A/N: This is just a short Cedric/Hermione 'one-shot', if you wish to call it that. I just hope you enjoy it and ... review. :D

Disclaimer:I own nothing.

The Great Hall was highly adorned from top to bottom with winter themed decorations, each ornament varied from length, width and what it was made of. Ice sculptures stood towering over all the guests at the Yule Ball, all of the students who had asked each other to be their acquaintance for a dance or two, to be a date and form a stronger bond than a friendship. The students of Hogwarts, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang, all mingling together in a vibrant steam of colours, laughing, smiling, conversing with each other out of pure enjoyment.

Except for Hermione Granger. She sat in a lonely chair at an abandoned snow white table, pouting and looking down to the ice cold floor with her brown eyes, burning holes into the silvery white tiles.

She did enjoy the aura of happiness that had been drifting onto everyone around her, the brightness of everyone's smiles and their voices chipper with an energetic break from the Triwizard Tournament stress. Though, a similar miserable atmosphere soared above two of her best friends and herself, after a nasty bicker concerning her date - the ever-so famous Viktor Krum.

Hermione felt eyes stare at her, judging her for her stupidity and the depressing feeling she brought upon them for just sitting there, sulking. Although, one pair of adorable grey eyes settled on her with sympathy and kindness.

Before she knew it, she was staring at the black pant legs of a tall boy, with shining black shoes which imitated her reflection. Her eyes settled on the calm face of a very good-looking boy, a Champion of the Triwizard Tournament. "Why the sad face, Granger?"

Hermione hesitated, feeling exposed and embarrassed. "Ever had someone ruin your perfect evening? Although I wouldn't call it perfect …" she mumbled, looking down to her own shoes, her painted toe nails, then back up at Cedric, tears staining her eyes.

"On my account, my evening has just gotten better." He offered her a sweet, honest smile, at this little gesture, Hermione felt her cheeks flame with red, blushing wildly than any untamed undomesticated animal. "Would you care to dance?"

He held out his hand for her to take. She looked at it with hesitation, before looking up meeting his dazzling eyes. "Why? Why me? You're here with Cho, remember?"

"Granger, you've always been a bright angelic light, you're smart, you are beautiful, with and without make up and the striking dress and the perfect hair, Cho is mad at me because I couldn't keep my eyes off of you." Hermione could've sworn she saw a tint of pink rest on his cheeks. She couldn't control her small smile as she took his hand and he glided her to the floor, where all the other couples gazed upon each other's faces.

She felt his arm wrap around her waist, and her own snaking around his neck. Their fingers met in mid air, entwining as Cedric lead her across the floor. Hermione suddenly felt warm, despite the frosty backdrop and the chill it had sent through her once or twice earlier that evening.

Their faces were only inches a part, Hermione inhaled the cologne he wore, losing her sense to think logically. She found it twice as difficult when she looked up into his kind grey eyes, as they gaped on her with an emotion of possible love.

They remained as this, as one. Once the song finished, neither of them pulled away. Hermione didn't want this moment to end, she gazed at Cedric as he seemed to lean in closer. She filled the gap in a sweet, long kiss. They broke a part, red appearing on both of their cheeks in a violent blush.

"Is that red I see on your face, Mr Diggory?" Hermione playfully giggled.

Cedric leaned closer, smelling Hermione's enchanting fragrance and meeting her brown eyes with his grey ones, "Why, Miss Granger, all I see is you."
