"Brief! Ghost Adventures is on!" A feminine cry echoed through the house as a teen girl waited on the couch for her best friend.
"I'm coming, Gigi! I needed to pop the popcorn and put it in a bowl." A shrill male voice called from the kitchen. A teen boy with orange, sheep-like hair walked out of the kitchen holding two bowls full of popcorn.
"It took you long enough Brief. Luckily for us, it was only the intro you missed. Commercials are still playing". The girl turned to her friend, her black and red bobbed hair almost hitting his face.
"So, I heard that there will be two new girls at school on Monday. Someone new for Barby to mess with." Gigi's brown eyes glinted with malice behind her glasses when Barby's name was mentioned.
She clenched her hands into fists, remembering all the humiliation and bullying she had to go through when Barby literally became queen of the school. "Barby is just a conniving, sly, two-timing, son of a b-"
"Gigi! You shouldn't curse! It's not like you…" Her eyes began to water as she sat down on the couch, feeling disappointed that the popular girl had gotten to her that much.
"I'm sorry that you had to see me burst, Brief. I'm just not as cool and calculating as I am at school. If they see the real me, you and I would just get picked on more. I'm a very sensitive person inside and Barby knows it. She enjoys slowly chipping my walls down so I crack. And if I know her, it will be in front of the entire school. I just have a lot of stress on my plate. Sorry for all of th- Brief! what are you doing!" Brief had just placed her in his lap, hugging her from behind.
"Look Gigi. Ghost Adventures is back on," The ghost nerd pointed out to his friend. "I didn't come here just for you, there's a Ghost Adventures marathon tonight!"
Gigi wiped her eyes with her shirt sleeve, happy about this time with her friend. "I know, sheep boy. Now hand me that popcorn bowl." The two spent that night watching the marathon and wondering what the two new girls would be like.
