A youkai was being dragged of the cliff's edge, it tried to claw it's way and in it's efforts it's tail flailed about with abandon. It hit Kanna across the chest and with a soft grunt she slammed back into Hakudoushi, both of them skidding across the snow backwards, as the youkai gave off a final screech, before finally falling into the chilling, dark depths of the river. The pair slid to a stop, both straddling to return to full mental capacity.
Hakudoushi managed to push his dizziness away, gently lifting his head. He blinked several times, as he saw Kanna sprawled across his chest. Was she going to move? Was she alive? Hakudoushi resented that last thought, as he heard a slight groan come from her porcelain lips.
Kanna vaguely acknowledged that she was laying on Hakudoushi but didn't truly comprehend the fact. All she cared about within these moments was that her back felt painful. Kanna tried to move, but groaned at the pain that she was feeling. She closed her eyes gently, as she decided to lay on him for a few more minutes, she felt comfortable, and she felt warm.
Her eyes snapped open, as she realised whom she had been knocked into. She would turn to look at his face, unintentionally causing her to roll off him. She fell onto her injury, she winced lightly at the pain and before she went unconscious, she seeked out the warmth and cuddled against it.
Hakudoushi blinked again, as he stared down at Kanna, whom was curled up at his side. He noticed she had started to shiver, noticing her kimono had been torn slightly from the youkai's claws. He looked up, glancing around the area for other youkai, but nothing was to be seen. There was no sign of a nearby village.
He rolled his head gently to look at the albino girl, before carefully adjusting her body, allowing her to rest her head up on his chest again, he had his arm spread across her shoulder blades, holding her as close to him, as he could. One of her arms was resting up on his chest. If this couldn't keep her warm, then he were unsure of what else could keep her warm.
Kanna had proven herself to proven herself worthy to him, Hakudoushi would watch over her until she would awaken from her slumber, but until then, he was glad, Kagura hadn't arrived yet. He didn't know what would happen, if she were to arrive at this moment, knowing Kagura she would more than likely tease him about this. Ever so lightly he shook his head, as he didn't want to waste time thinking about that. Instead he was grateful that Kagura or Naraku hadn't come yet, otherwise he would have some explaining to do, as to why they were together in that way, why he was trying to keep her warm, and most of all, why didn't he want to move?
