The Feeling of Love
A/N: Yaoi/boy x boy fluff ahead. Don't like it? Don't read it.
I like sitting on my bed and studying, mainly because it comforts me. It feels nice to know I have something to do when I feel like the world around me is being so loud and obnoxious.
And then there's the fact that I forget I have a second bunk, creaking every few seconds like it's going to cave in on my head. Sulley's up there when I'm down here. I study and he plays video games on his phone. That's pretty much how it always is.
Then there was that one time…where he actually stopped to talk to me. He seriously put down whatever he was focused on and hopped down from his bed to talk to me.
"Hey, Mike," Sulley broke the usual silence of our room. I looked up as he jumped down from his bunk.
I held a scare theory book to my face, deep in the focus of studying. There is surprisingly one person that can distract me from it, and that person is none other than Sulley. Naturally, I looked up from my book to see what he needed.
"Yeah, Sul?" I responded, sitting up slowly.
"I don't really know what's come over me lately," he replied. "Have I seemed a bit clingy over the past week?"
I thought for a moment. "Now that you mention it, a little bit, yes." But why was he talking to ME about it?
"I keep getting this odd feeling whenever I'm around you. It feels a bit like I've stuck my face in a fire and my hands in a tub of ice." Sulley says. I can't think of anything that would explain it. I have to admit, it was an odd description.
"I don't know, Sul. I've never heard anything of the sort," I replied, shrugging. I hadn't noticed this before, but Sulley began to blush. I raised an eyebrow and said, "Sulley, you're blushing."
"I am?" He asked, lifting a hand to his cheek. "That's strange."
I scooted closer to my roommate. "Is there something you're not telling me?" I knew he was hiding something, but I didn't know what.
Sulley's face went bright red, and he sighed. "I can't take this any longer. I…really like you, Mike. You're handsome…and it's obvious."
My cheeks got warm suddenly and my hands grew cold and clammy. There was that feeling that Sulley was talking about. But was there a name for it?
"I have…a crush on you, Mikey…" Sulley finished.
I exhaled deeply and looked over at my books, not knowing what to do about this. It felt frightening and irregular, at the least. Yet there was this joyful sense overwhelming a part of me, almost like I was expecting Sullivan to tell me what he did. "I-I…"
"Mike?" Sulley waved a hand in front of my face. "Earth to Mike, buddy. You there?"
I snapped out of my trance and looked up at Sulley. "LOVE." I spat out. "That's what it is."
"What?" Sulley asked with the most puzzled look.
I stared straight into Sulley's baby blues and sighed, "Let me try something." I crawled up on Sulley's lap and got to face level with him. "Don't say anything, Sul. Not a word…"
I moved in toward his face, closed my eyes, and softly touched my lips to his. They were so warm.
I took a few seconds, but I finally felt Sulley's hands move up my spine, one on the back of my neck, and the other close to my eye. The hair covering up my left eye fell away with Sulley's claws. I opened my eyes a little so I could see Sulley's face, revealing the emerald iris in my left eye, contradicting to my ice blue one.
So that was what love felt like. So warm, so…sweet.
A/N: I wrote this one shot a while back on my iPod. I just love these two monsters to death. They're too sweet and adorable!
