It is a cold day at the X-Mansion, most students have caught colds and are in their beds. Only one student has managed to not catch a cold, Kitty Pryde aka Shadowcat.
She had previously made a bet with Rogue that if she could not catch a cold, Rogue would wash her clothes for the next five months. If Kitty lost the bet, however, Kitty would have to go up to Scott, in front of Jean, and kiss him.
Kitty walks into Professor X's room. She had been instructed to take his temperature and give him soup.
"Uh, professor?" Kitty asked shockingly.
"What is it, Kitty?" Professor Xavier asked.
"I think you might want to see the news." Kitty responded.
Kitty turns the volume up on the TV.
"It seems the wall-crawling menace known as Spider-Man, has found his way into a supply warehouse. He has cornered a few masked villains, known as Electro, Shocker and Doctor Octopus. To some, it may seem as though Spider-Man is trying to stop them, but, in reality, he's really trying to convince the police that he is on their side." J. Jonah Jameson said.
"Professor?" Kitty said scarcely.
"Go Kitty." Professor X said softly.
"What?" Kitty said.
"Go help him." Professor X said.
"What? Why he's not even a mutant?" Kitty said.
"It doesn't matter, Kitty. Just because he's not a mutant, which by the way, you do not know if he is or not, doesn't mean he's supposed to have to do this alone" Professor X said straightly.
Kitty left out of Professor X's room and privately took the X-Jet, which she had been piloting, since the defeat of Apocalypse. She was scared at first, but, warmed up the courage.
Kitty arrived at the warehouse Spider-Man and the villains were reportedly fighting in. She landed the jet nearby and phased through the top of the wall, directly in between Spider-Man and the three villains.
"Get down!" Spider-Man yelled out as he pushed her out of the way.
"What in tarnation?" Shocker said.
"Aww, I don't care, just cause Spider-Man brought his girlfriend to stop us doesn't mean anything." Rhino said.
Rhino charged at the two, creating several cracks in the ground.
