Everyone has secrets, only some should stay secret for a reason. Because the consequences can be terrifying.
Neither of them really knew how it had started. It had begun in a dreamlike state; where reality and the surreal combined into a trance where it was both real and unreal simultaneously.
The two had fallen into it, letting emotions take over; a dangerous catastrophe when you're both teenage boys. Between them they still couldn't figure out how it had happened, only that one day it had been rushed into: a tangle of limbs and a rush of excitement fuelling on the potentially dangerous experiment.
They argued over who had been the initiator. Neither wanted to take the full responsibility of their actions, so the real truth of "who started it" was concealed. What they both did agree on, however, was that it had been a Saturday night. High on the exhilaration of the weekend, something had sparked. And, as it always does, that one spark soon blew into an out of control fire.
It had happened slowly, and then all at once.
One minute they were messing around, perfecting their host club acting. Hikaru had his hand on the back of his brother's neck whilst they started tenderly into each other's eyes.
The reason they were practising was because Kaoru kept breaking away to laugh. His amusement became infectious and soon both twins were lying on their shared bed smiling in a giddy happiness that rarely occurs between siblings.
What happened next remains a mystery. If you listen to Hikaru, Kaoru leaned over and pressed his lips to Hikaru's own.
If you listened to Kaoru though, Hikaru had just softly smiled at him, before reaching out a pale hand to brush away a section of hair that had fallen into Kaoru's eyes. The gesture and the caring look had overwhelmed him, until he couldn't help himself but move closer so their faces were almost- but not quite- touching.
The later events of the night were agreed upon however. Well, it would have been pretty hard to deny giving the fact both twins kept a safe distance away from each other, barely touching, even though the two huge bruises marring pale skin gave everything away.
But they left it, ignored everything and pushed any remaining feelings aside.
The rest of the host club knew- or could guess at- what had happened. But until the twins admitted it, Kyouya had made the decision not to let anyone get involved.
After all, it was between them and them only.
