This is just one of my headcanons. A cute little one-shot. It's about Molly and Lucy Weasley, the daughters of Percy and Audrey Weasley. I always imagined that Audrey was from Louisiana and that's where the girls were raised until Molly was nine or something and Lucy was six and they moved to Britain, where Molly was born. I wanted to give them this little story. I've always wanted to see snow. I have seen mud imbued with sleet. Does that count?
If you stop reading two sentences in or something, just skip to the bottom and review this. Just review something like "It didn't hold me" or "Too boring." I'll even just take a frowny face. Thanks!
Molly was reading on Grandpa Arthur's lap. Lucy was chattering about her doll with Lily on the floor. They had just woken up after they arrived late last night. Molly and Lucy had flown in from Louisiana for their first Christmas at the Burrow. Molly, who was seven, and Lucy, who was four, usually only came over for the summer. They were very excited to be in Britain.
Louis and Roxanne ran down the stairs and shouted, "Let's go play in the snow!"
Molly's and Lucy's heads snapped up. Molly turned to her younger cousins, "Snow?"
Four-year-old Louis tilted his head to the side in confusion and replied, "Yeah. Snow."
Molly and Lucy looked at each other and then made a mad dash for the door. Everyone followed them to the back garden with Percy and Audrey in the lead.
Molly and Lucy had stopped in their tracks. They stared in awe at the snow-covered landscape.
Molly whispered, "Mommy. Snow."
Lucy screamed and ran at the snow. "Molly! Molly! Molly!" she cried, jumping up and down in the snow. Molly followed her into the snow and fell onto the ground. She started making snow angels. Lucy was throwing snow into the air.
James looked up at Harry and whispered, "What's wrong with them?"
Harry smiled at James and then looked over at Audrey who was crying into Percy's shoulder. He whispered back, "Molly and Lucy have never seen snow."
James grinned widely and turned to the two laughing girls. Running out to join them, he asked, "Do you want to build a snowman?"
"A snowman!" Lucy exclaimed.
Molly's eyes brightened and she asked excitedly, "How?"
The other Weasley kids joined them in the snow. James answered, "We'll teach you."
"Yay!"
Audrey whispered to Percy, "They're playing in the snow. The girls are playing in the snow. We have to get a camera. I don't ever want to forget this."
Percy went inside to find a camera and Audrey stayed outside watching James teach the girls how to build a snowman.
James smiled and looked over at Audrey. The six-year-old called out, "Aunt Audrey! Come in the snow!"
Dominique ran up to her and grabbed her hand, leading her over to where everyone was working together to build a snowman. Audrey kneeled down in the snow and slowly reached down to touch it with her hands. Laughing with glee, she helped the kids build a snowman.
Percy came out with the camera and smiled. He quietly snapped a picture of the girls' first white Christmas.
Okay, so this was a short one, but I love it. I think it's perfect. It's only 439 words, not including these Author's Notes. I hope you like my one-shot of me living vicariously through Harry Potter characters. Please review. Anything. Even just a smiley face. Thanks!
