Drezden stalked his way towards his lieutenant and with a resounding clang,
gauntlet connected with skull.
'You fool!' He roared, the sound echoing around the valley.
'If you had retreated when instructed, our force would now be strong enough
to hold the gorge.' General Drezden was now pacing back and forth in front
of his stricken officer, who was still on his knees after being knocked to
them moments before. From his position he shot a defiant glance upwards
into Dresden's cold, grey eyes.
'I retreat from nobody!'
'Oh really lad? Is that your breeding or are you just stupid?' The Generals
eyes held the faintest glimmer of a smile. The Lieutenant leapt to his
feet, but did not intend to close the gap between himself and his superior.
He looked around, painfully aware of the Regiment of soldiers watching his
humiliation.
'Stupid? Sir, if I had retreated my men would have been decimated by the
enemy cavalry!'
The young officer looked smug as he made his point. His expression soon
changed.
'Decimated? Maybe. Not wiped out but for a handful of warriors! Did you
learn any military tactics in that palace of yours? Or just how to wave
your sword and dress like a woman?' The surrounding warriors chuckled
amongst themselves while the lieutenant changed an interesting shade of
purple.
'My Father.' he started.
'Would give you a kick up the arse and tell you to follow orders!' finished
Drezden
'The only difference here is that I hit you in the head, but I doubt that
the effects would vary because they're both full of shite anyway! Now get
on that mare and mince your way to Kellit Outpost. Take five men and tell
them to prepare for imminent attack, and don't get them killed for gods
sake!'
