THE ANGEL-NATOR

By Deerdevil

Author's Note: Okay...confession time. The following song/poem is a nutty little something I made up and use to sing to my cat, Angel, when she was alive. She loved it when held her in my arms like a baby (held her like that ever since she was a little kitten), and she didn't seem to mind this song either. [BTW, Nutmeg was the other cat who lived in our house-he died last year at age 15. As for Mom, Angel loved Mom, but seem to ignore her whenever I was around-guess I was favorite or something.] Anyways, I happen to think of Angel today, and decided to post this in her memory. Enjoy.

THE ANGEL-NATOR

[In the tune of the 1960's SPIDER-MAN theme song.]

The Angel-nator...Angel-nator
Does whatever cats named Angel do:
Taking cat-naps all the time;
Catches mice and flies.

Look out! Here comes the Angel-nator!

Is she tough?
Listen, bub! She's got Siamese in her blood.
Will she chase a ball of thread?
Take a look overhead.

Hey there, there goes the Angel-nator!

In the chill of the night,
At the sound of a can-opener grind,
At the speed of light,
She arrives just in time!

The Angel-nator...Angel-nator,
Friendly neighbor Angel-nator...
Mom and Nutmeg, she ignores.
A can of cat food is reward to her!

Life is a great big hang up!
Where ever there's a can of tuna,
You'll find the Angel-nator!

(In loving memory of Angel the cat [1993-2008].)
