Part I: The Making Of
"Let's have a baby."
Luck looked up in surprise at the man who was currently straddling him in the armchair, Luck lifted one eyebrow in question as his hands paused at Dallas's hips.
"Dallas, how much school did you skip?"
"Very funny, Luck," Dallas muttered, frowning down at him. "And I didn't skip that much school. Jesus, do you fuckin' listen when I talk?"
"Of course I do, I'm not as inconsiderate as you seem to think I am," Luck said calmly. "Anyway, if you didn't skip your basic biology classes, please, explain your first statement to me. As we're both men and therefore can't have a baby naturally on our own."
"That's not what Maiza told me. He told me that, like, because of some weird biological shit, some immortal men can have babies."
"And you believe him?" Usually, Dallas didn't believe anyone's judgment except his own.
"I've convinced myself that guy knows everything. So yeah, I believe him."
"...Alright. And what in the world makes you think that we should have a baby?" Luck had a bad feeling that their particular mix of genetics would not end up well. While Luck could hide it, he had an insanely bad temper, and Dallas's was just as bad. Not to mention that they both seemed to have a knack for doing things that were illegal.
"Luck," Dallas whined, making that cute little irresistible pouty face that he made when he was trying to convince Luck to do something for him, and it made his boyfriend squirm, "This could be my only chance to live out my dream!" Although Dallas made sure not many people knew about it, he'd told Luck way back when they started dating that it was a long held dream of his to have a baby, and one that he'd never expected to come to fruition. It made Luck squirm more; it was easier to guilt trip him when you were someone he happened to like.
"Dallas, we're immortal men. Not middle-aged nearing menopause women."
"...Still." He looked at him as intently as a child begging for a puppy, and Luck rubbed at his eyes.
"Am I going to regret this?"
"To be honest, yeah, probably. But that hasn't stopped you before, now has it?" Dallas leaned in close, so close that their noses were touching, and a smirk crossed Luck's face.
"I guess it can't hurt to try?"
Little did they know, they'd both get way more than they bargained for in the next nine months.
