Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter, I do own Pascha however, and this story. :) JKR never said that the Bloody Baron was the son of Salazar Slytherin, nor did she indicate that Helga Hufflepuff had any children. Or that… oh whatever you get the point.
"Come on Pascha!" I laughed, running through the meadow.
It was filled with sunflowers; they came to my elbows and captured the sunlight perfectly, glowing brightly. My skirt swirled around my legs as I turned to face my friend. She was slower than me, and I had to keep turning around to wait for her to catch up. Her dress was much too dark for the occasion in my opinion, deep blue, with dark green and purple embroidery. Mine was golden with orange and yellow sunflowers along the hem. Perfect for this meadow.
"I can't keep up Helena! How much longer?" she wailed behind me.
"Not too far now," I replied, not even bothering to turn around.
We made our way to a small hill in the middle of the flowers. The grass was soft, but we still laid down a blanket. Unpacking the piknic basket, we talked and laughed. Reclining against the hill, eating and pointing out odd shaped clouns, it was a typical summer day.
The only exception was the looming prospect of going to town tonight. No one liked us in town, they called us witches, and would whisper about us behind our backs. Of course I, being the daughter of Rowena Ravenclaw, was a witch. I was smart, witty, and beautiful like my mother, but I lacked patience. I had been like that since I eas born, and I found myself wishing that it would come just so it would be over.
The only good thing about going to town was Nicholas. He was one of the only wizards who lived around here that's my own age besides Pascha. Oh, and I suppose the Baron too but I never really counted him. We didn't get along, him being a Slytherin and all. And I'm not just talking about the house, he's the son of Salazar Slytherin.
That means I saw him a lot more than I liked, holidays, birthdays, and whenever else our parents got together. The only other time I see him away from school was when I saw Nicholas. And though any occasion I saw Nicholas was cause for celebration, this was just one more reason to dread tonight. Nicholas being a Griffindor, I didn't see how he and Baron were friends, but they were and there was nothing I could do about it.
When us four got together, you'd think that Nicolas would be the one left out, because he was the only one of us without a parent as a founder, but it was really quite the opposite. He was the one who kept us all together, and the most normal of us.
Pascha Hufflepuff was shy and jittery, I was stuck up most of the time, but far too perky and sweet when I was around Nicholas, and Baron Slytherin was dark and quiet, and never joined in anything fun. Nicholas de Mimzy-Porpington however, was handsome, outgoing, and kind. He made quite an immpression on young ladies, and I was no exception. Pascha was the only one who didn't outwardly show feelings to him, but I saw how she looked at him, and how a slight blush crept into her pale cheeks when he talked to her.
A/N: Thanks to all for reading! This isn't finished yet, so keep checking back! Reviews fill my day with rainbows and smiley faces, so rewiew please. It's the only way I know if you liked it, what I need to fix, or even if you read it! I don't care if it's ONE WORD. Honestly does it take that long?
