He finds her sleeping on the couch. She cried again. His broken angel. Too close and too far at the same time. He used to not care if she's dead or alive, then was willing to die to add one extra month to her human life. He sits beside her, looks at her tears strained face and asks himself when he got so whipped. He tries to lift her up and take her to bed but she's still bossy even in her sleep. She makes sounds of protest and clings closer to him. He thinks it's torturous, but nice. he wraps her in his arms and he holds her little body, even though he's sure she's dreaming about his brother in that very moment.

He thinks he loves her.

He knows she knows that.

He thinks he should tell her again.

But he knows it's not the right time.

It's never the right time.

She wakes up to the shades of blue. Any other day she would shriek out of his embrace, roll her eyes when he smirks and tells her he knows she's hot for him. This is the game they play to avoid the truth. But his eyes bore into hers and she doesn't want to break the spell. She knows she's exactly where she wants to be at the moment. She shifts and reaches for him. Her hand is trembling as she touches his cheek and traces the lines of his jaw. She leans closer because she's desperate to feel his lips on hers. She thinks she forgot what it's like, and she wants to remember. His lips part and his hand is shaking slightly on her cheek. Every inch of her body seems to be aware of that. He stops her midway pressing his fingers against her lips, because they can't do that. Too many facts they have no right to forget, too many rules they have no right to break, too many people would be disappointed, too many "reasons why they shouldn't" fill the air between them, drawing the line they can't cross. She presses her lips against his fingers softly. His face shines with adoration and she thinks she has never seen him more beautiful. But as his fingers leave her lips and make their way to his she notices sadness in his eyes. She knows this moment is all they can give each other now. It might be all they can ever give each other.

She thinks she loves him.

She thinks he knows that.

She thinks she should tell him anyway.

But she knows it's not the right time.

It's never the right time.
