SOLEMNLY SWEAR
The students of Gryffindor were bustling in and out of the Common Room. All of them were trying to get out into the grounds to spend some time with their friends. It was a lovely scene outside for as the sky looked like a canvas with beautiful tinges of orange and yellow splashed over it artistically.
A particular group of Gryffindor 7th years had resorted to going out and having a picnic together. Lily Evans had initially suggested this for as she wanted to go on a picnic with the whole lot of them at least once. Sirius Black had been the most enthusiastic one about the entire 'picnic thing'. At the moment, Lily Evans, Marlene McKinnon and were getting things ready for the picnic they were all going to have. Lily had bought herself a huge picnic basket after the event was decided. Marlene put in a large foam mat, bug spray, and a trash bag. Lily made sure to get her Muggle camera ready for she had promised to teach Sirius how to use the camera. The Maruaders and Frank Longbottom had genuinely volunteered to take care of the food because they had their 'resources'.
The two girls walked down the stairs and went down to the Common Room to find Dorcas Meadowes, Hestia Jones and Alice Fortescue waiting for them carrying a bag filled with games for the whole lot of them to play with. The Mauraders and Frank claimed that they'd arrive at the grounds on time with all the food they needed. The five girls walked down to the girls catching up with each others' schedules. They found the secluded spot all of them had decided a week earlier and laid the mat down waiting for the boys. After almost 5 minutes, they heard a loud but joyous shout.
''Definitely Sirius,'' said Lily chuckling softly. Over the years, she and Sirius had developed a strong friendship. They lived in almost same situations which made them understand each other better. Sirius was just like a brother to Lily.
Yes, they did hear Sirius' voice but he or the others were nowhere to be seen. Lily stood up looking towards the castle to see if they were in sight. Within the blink of her eye, she was on the floor, eyes closed and a heavy weight over her.
''Lily Flower! Didn't mean to fall on you that hard though,'' said Sirius as he gave her a hand to get back onto her feet.
''That was very funny Sirius,'' said James.
''Very funny Sirius,'' said Lily fixing her hair.
''How about a game of Hide and Seek before we all begin eating the extremely savoury food we've brought here?'' asked Remus.
''Moony,'' began James who was clearly not interested. ''We're 7th years and I surely remember playing that game when we were 10.''
''I'm in,'' said Sirius.
''I'm in too,'' said Lily.
''We're all in,'' said the others piping in.
''Well then, I agree to play as well,'' said James almost maturely.
''James, seek.'' said Sirius.
''Merlin, Sirius,'' said James slumping his shoulders slightly. ''I agree to play even though I am not in the mood and I get to seek?''
''Yes, James you can seek. We all hide from you,'' said Lily smirking a little bit looking at Sirius who smirked back in response.
''Fine then,'' said James getting up as the group exchanged knowing looks. ''I count to 10, don't I?''
''100,'' said Sirius.
''Yes, 100,'' agreed Lily as James threw Sirius a dirty look.
''Here I begin,'' said James as he began counting from 1.
