This is my first attempt at a fanfic, but I do hope you all enjoy reading it. It's mostly Toushirou's P.O.V and I've allowed myself into his thoughts. ^_^
GENIUS VS GENIUS.
He was alone. Kuchiki and Zaraki were gone. It was a desert, dark and lonely. Matsumoto, Abarai and Kusajishi had also disappeared. He felt no reiatsu, but he was drowning in his own power. This place was saturated with spirit power. He had a hard time controlling his power in Soul Society, and he wondered how he'd survive here. He began regretting coming for this mission.
Hueco Mundo.
What the hell was Kurosaki thinking?! As much as Aizen had died, Ichimaru was still on the loose, and they couldn't allow anyone to be this rash, not especially him. Stupid kid. He really did not understand how powerful Ichimaru was, that's why he decided to come to Hueco Mundo and look for him on his own.
He began walking. It was kind of hard to breathe, but he had to learn to keep his reiatsu submerged, or else hollow would begin appearing. He walked for what seemed like ages, then the first hollow appeared. He effortlessly killed it, and continued on his way.
"Hitsugaya Taichou," he heard his name. He turned, and saw Unohana. "Unohana," he whispered before darkness enveloped him.
"Master Toushirou….." he heard the voice, far, far away. It was faint, but he immediately recognized Hyourinmaru calling him. He woke with a start. The huge ice dragon was infront of him.
"Hyourinmaru…I'm sorry. Hueco Mundo is just crazy. It's too much for us. I don't think I can manage with both of us."
Hyourinmaru growled slightly at these words. "Really, master Toushirou?" He moved closer. "D'you really think so? I don't." Toushirou looked at him a bit shocked.
"What do you mean? You felt that power, didn't you? It was too saturating. I'm finding it so hard." He said slowly, looking down. "So, so hard." He whispered hoarsely.
Hyourinmaru spread down his wing for Toushirou to climb on it, right onto his back. He then rose and begun flying. He growled again. He couldn't exactly sigh. He was a dragon, after all.
"Listen to me, Master Toushirou, do you think we would be together if I thought that you weren't powerful enough to yield me? From the time I knew that you were supposed to be my shinigami, my partner, I put all my confidence in you. You were young then, and you still are now, relative to everybody else, but you wield me, the most powerful zanpakutou of my kind, and I've grown even stronger in your partnership. We have grown together, master Toushirou and you know all my powers, you're just scared of using them all, since you're not sure whether you can control them well enough. I don't blame you. But let's get one thing straight here and now. We are one, part of each other. I'm with you through all this. We will manage. That's a promise. I'm here for you, just like I know you're there for me."
Toushirou got down, at ease again. He smiled up at his zanpakutou. "Thank you, Hyourinmaru. Thank you very much."
Again, he woke up, and saw Kotetsu, peering down at him. "Are you okay, Hitsugaya Taichou?" she asked, a bit worried.
"I'm fine." He replied. "Where's Unohana taichou?"
"I'm here, Hitsugaya taichou." She said in that soft spoken voice of hers as she approached him. "Neither Isane or I wanted to wake you becaused we assumed that you were conversing with your zanpakutou. Are you sure you're okay?"
He looked at her and nodded. "Have you heard-"
There was a huge explosion behind them, then a wave of heavy reiatsu. Both of them were predominantly shinigami, but there was a strong sense of hollow in each.
His eyes narrowed. He recognized both reiatsus, very well. "Ichimaru and Kurosaki are engaged in a battle." He said slowly, before using shunpo to get out of there.
