Hi! So, I'm trying out this Shakespeare thing again. I want to do the whole musical, BUT I still have my Nessa story to work on, SO I thought I'd give y'all this one little teaser, and then start an actual story once I finish TYtDO. I've already finished No One Mourns the Wicked and the throne room scene where Fiyero declares that he wants to go with Elphaba. So yeah.

Enjoy!

Act II

Scene 6

/

[Kiamo Ko. Enter ELPHABA.]

/

ELPHABA: Come, ye spirits that do rule the passages of life and death, ye agents of Hecate. Come, and be upon him as a shield, thus guarding him from that popular death ascribed his name since I mangled it! Make his bones as marble, and his flesh as iron, or whatever thou canst devise to spare him. Receive the contents of my cauldron, and let him live! I don't believe I have ever prayed in my life of a score, but now I prithee, let death pass over him! What? No reply? Even my craft doth forsake me now, and leave my soul to shatter and be carried by the wind, out of sight, out of reach. And now, what visions are these! For I see my little Nessie before me now, her body crushed, that fair face blackened by bruises and wounds. Nessa! Hear me a final time! But now who comes to torment me? The good doctor, looking at me in such a reproachful manner as he used to look at Glinda, Pfannee, but never me! But then, in that time, I did not fail as I do now. I hath not even the audacity to beg forgiveness. But soft! The final ghost cometh, and the most terrible! His handsome face, now a death's mask, reminding me that ev'rything I touch turns to ruin! Oh Fiyero! But my own vice I did lose thee, therefore I now lose myself in vice. Ye spirits! If ye art not willing to save my love, then prithee, be courteous. Suck out all the love within me, and put in its place spite and hatred. Harden my heart, that I may no longer be injured when fate plays out the way it should. Fiyero, thou wilt be the last person I shall ever love, and in thy name, I become what they desire me to be: a perfect model of pure wickedness!

[Lightning. Exit ELPHABA.]

Yup. That's that. Sort of modeled off Lady Macbeth's first soliloquy, because she and Elphaba a little bit alike, if you think about it.

Hope you liked it! Thanks for reading!

Cheers,
