Gwaine stumbled into his room, setting his candle on the table, and yawning. He removed his sword and belt placing them on the table as well. Then he pulled off his boots and began to remove the rest of his armor, throwing it haphazardly onto the chairs. Down to just his breeches and linen shirt, Gwaine picked the candle back up and headed toward his bed. He placed the candle on the nightstand and then looked over at his bed in shock. There was clearly someone already sleeping there. Slowly he reached out a hand and touched the figure.

"Raieya?!" he exclaimed.

Raieya rolled over, looking just as surprised as him.

"Gwaine!" she gasped.

"What are you doing?"

"What are you doing?! I thought you wouldn't be back till tomorrow!"

"Arthur decided to keep going so we'd make it tonight," Gwaine replied. "Now what are you doing?"

"Well, I was sleeping," Raieya answered defensively, sitting up a little.

"In my bed?" asked Gwaine. "Wait. Are you wearing my shirt too?"

Raieya looked down, bewildered. "...maybe."

"So you've been sleeping in my bed in my shirt?" said Gwaine, a smug look on his face.

Raieya shrugged. "Your room is warmer."

"Mhmm," said Gwaine. "And my shirt?"

Raieya sighed in irritation. "Well I am used to sleeping with you and it's the next best thing when you're not here."

"You missed me," smirked Gwaine.

"Well yeah," admitted Raieya. "And are you not pleased to see me?"

"Don't be ridiculous," said Gwaine with a laugh. "How could I not be pleased to come home early and find you waiting in my bed?"

"Right," said Raieya sarcastically. "As I said, I didn't think you'd be back until tomorrow."

"Yet here I am," smirked Gwaine. "Now you don't have to sleep alone, pining away for me."

"I was not 'pining away' for you," scoffed Raieya, swinging her bare legs over the edge of the bed. "I'll just go back to my chambers now."

"I thought you said it was cold," Gwaine pointed out.

"I'll send for an extra blanket," said Raieya.

She threw the covers aside and stood, revealing the fact that she was wearing nothing but his shirt.

"Raieyana," said Gwaine, grabbing her wrist as she brushed past him. "Stay."

"Why?" Raieya demanded.

"For one thing, as much as I enjoy the sight of you in nothing but my shirt, you can't go wandering through the castle like that," Gwaine answered. His expression softened then and he added, "And I missed you."

He wrapped his arms around her, meeting her lips in a gentle kiss.

"I'm sure," she said sardonically, pulling away.

"I did," Gwaine insisted.

He tugged his shirt off and tossed it aside, moving toward the bed.

"Come on, Rai. Come to bed."

Raieya considered him for a moment. Shaking her head in exasperation, she joined him on the bed.
Gwaine stretched out in the covers and lay back against his pillow, extending an arm for Raieya to join him. She slid under the blanket and scooted over to him, resting her head against his chest. Gwaine wrapped his arms around her, pulling her body closer. He dropped a kiss into hair, his cheek resting against the top of her head.

"I did miss you," he murmured.

"Mmm," Raieya mumbled. "I'm glad you're back."

He kissed her once more then added, "Night, Rai."

"Good night, Gwaine," she replied.

She snuggled a little closer to him and soon they were both fast asleep.
