"Ma'am, may I suggest the blue dress? It would go very nicely with your steel eyes."

"Cinna, can you come pick out my clothing for the ball?" the princess had asked, she was tired of the nuisance of the other designer.

"Of course my dear, why don't I design a new dress?" she smiled warmly at the man who had been like a father to her.

Her father died when she was eleven years old, in a car accident. Her mother was left widowed and fell ill she was under the shadow of depression, she had been holding onto life wanting to see her oldest daughter wed. She was just on the edge of falling to death's dark grasp.

The ball thrown by Katniss' mother to find her a prince, which would become the king and she would be queen at their wedding, Katniss wanted her mother to die in peace so she went on with the ball.

When depression had its slimy tentacles around her mother she shut everyone out, including her and her sister Prim, Prim was 7 at the time whereas Katniss was 11.

While she was thinking about the ball and who would be there she didn't Cinna had entered with her dress.

"Ahem," she whirled around to face the person who had cleared their throat.

"Oh, hello Cinna you've finished already?" she questioned. She wondered how long she was thinking for. She ignored the thought and looked to see what he had brought.

It was black the color of her hair, it was a strapless dress, and had a heart neckline. It fit tightly as to show every single curve, that she thought she didn't have, but it flowed out at her waist at the same time. It was simple but elegant how she liked it but it was showing too much cleavage for her taste. She wore a heart-shaped diamond necklace her father gave her the night before the car crash. She had black ballet slippers showing under her dress, and she wore her hair down in its natural waves and had her tiara on her head.

She heard a knock on the door and went to answer it was her two best friends Gale and Cato. They both looked very nice and handsome. She pushed those thoughts out of her head because she couldn't love her best friend, right?

They both had black suits on with a white shirt and black dress shoes the only difference was that Gale had a red tie and Cato had a blue tie.

Damn, Cato looks good, she thought to herself. Then she felt her face start to heat up and knew she was blushing. Cato and Gale looked at her confused and then dismissed it.

"Ready to go, Kitty Kat," I glared and Cato for the nickname and nodded my head. (Switching to the first person) Cato had a smirk on his face and Gale was trying not to laugh.
