For untold generations, my family has been made up of amazing cats. Prophesized cats. My lineage leads all the way back to the great Firestar of legend, skipping a generation each time. Firestar, then the trio Lionblaze, Jayfeather, and Dovewing, and so on and so on, all the way down to me. I could list all the cats going back, but I won't bother. Now, who am I, you ask? Well, you won't hear about me for a while, so instead, let's focus on my mother, the average, if not pretty, she-cat, Tulipdance, and my father, Redwing, son of the illustrious Cherrystar. See, Redwing was from the "special" generation, like Firestar. His prophecy wasn't very exciting. Some stuff about saving the forest or whatever. But that's not really important. The important thing is that this means that my generating will be normal. Average. And you know what? I am more than fine with that. Back to the main story, though. Let's start with my parents, right in the heart of the wonderful Thunderclan.

Tulipdance couldn't have been happier. Greenleaf was unbelievably plentiful, the clans were at peace, the twolegs were quiet, and now she was finally going to be able to start the family she had always dreamed of. Just that morning, she had confirmed the news with Rosepatch. She was going to have kits! Tulipdance felt as if her heart was soaring through the sky. Seeing her mate's fiery red fur appear through the thorn barrier, Tulipdance raced toward Redwing, practically bowling him over.

"Woah!" the tom laughed, regaining his footing. "Someone's in a good mood, I can see."

Tulipdance could hardly contain herself. "Redwing, I have something I need to tell you. Can we go on a walk?"

Redwing agreed and the two padded, side by side, from the camp. The two walked until they reached the training hollow. It was almost sun down, meaning the clearing was empty and quiet. The last rays of sunlight poured through the trees, flooding the forest floor.

As Redwing parted his maw to speak, the she-cat could no longer contain herself.

"I'm expecting kits!" The silence that followed was palpable, and for a moment Tulipdance became fearful. The two had talked about having a family, but they had only been mates for a few short moons. Was he second guessing his decision to be with her? Lost in her worries, the new queen was caught off guard as her mate tackled her over, his whole body seeming vibrate as her purred, his eyes filled with joy.

"Kits! We're going to be a family!" He covered her face with affectionate licks as she laughed gleefully.
