Just like to thank my beta, SMFAHSpuffyGleekyWeasley :)

Ginny and harry were lying on the grass, looking at the clear blue sky. It was a beautiful day. Perfect, harry decided, for what he was about to do. It was just before lunch time at the burrow, and everyone else was inside getting ready for lunch. Ron had told harry only the night before that he planned on proposing to Hermione at some point in the reasonably near future. Their's had been a very fast relationship, harry decided, it was only a month since the final battle, and Ron was already thinking about that. Hermione probably had thought about it as well. Ron was the person that Harry thought would take forever to propose to their girlfriend, but obviously not.

"Hey Gin?"

"hmmm?"

"Close your eyes and hold out your hands." After Ginny did this, he placed a small black box is her hand. "Open your eyes." Ginny opened her eyes and gasped when she saw the box.

"Gin, you are my everything. I love you so much and would do anything for you, will you make me the luckiest man in the world and marry me?" Ginny didn't answer, she just threw herself at him and kissed him senseless.

"Hey Harry," She said with a mischievous glint in her eye, "Let's not tell anyone and see when they figure it out themselves."

"k." Harry and Ginny walked into the burrow for lunch, trying to hold their smiles in a bit.

As they walked, Ginny realised something, "Hey Harry, Did you ask dad for permission to propose?"

"Nup." Harry Said, "He just gave it to me a week ago."

"My dad." Ginny Laughed, "What would I do without him?"

The next evening, Harry and Ginny were sitting at the big table in the burrow for dinner. It was Sunday evening and everyone was at the burrow for dinner as usual. No one had noticed that they were engaged but harry could bet that either Hermione or Mrs Weasley would notice first. As if on cue, Hermione said in a casual voice, "That's a nice ring Ginny."

Ron opened and closed his mouth and Harry got the image of a gaping goldfish. After about a minute of Ginny and Hermione quietly discussing the ring, Ron finally stopped gaping and gave Harry a huge smile. 'You'd better be next.' Harry Mouthed to Ron. Ron shot Harry a look and then mouthed back. 'I hope so.'

At that moment Percy and George noticed the ring and George gave Harry the protective older brother look he had been expecting. Percy then asked Ginny quietly about the history of the ring. Harry had answered Percy's questions when Fleur suddenly said, "That's ey nice ring Ginny!" At that word Bill and Charlie turned to Harry and gave him the scariest looks he'd ever been given, and he'd faced Voldemort!

All through this, Arthur and Molly, who'd told Harry much to his dismay to call them so, had been having a quiet discussion and had not noticed all the kerfuffle that had been going on down the other end. But when Arthur did notice, he almost fell off his chair and Charlie had to catch him. He then elbowed Molly, who was still chatting to him as though nothing had happened. She turned and jumped a mile high and ran over to Ginny, who had noticed Molly jump and risen out of her chair, and almost bowled her over with the hug she bestowed on her. Then, turning to Harry, she said,

"I'll guess you'll have to call me mum then."

"Ok mum."

"Where'd you get the ring?" At this Ginny turned around, obviously she wanted to know as well.

"It was my mothers. Dad got it custom designed for her. It was in the vault at Gringotts."

The look that Ginny gave him was a mixture between pity and admiration and love. She then rounded the table and gave him a good kiss, which they broke apart from when Ron coughed pointedly.

"You'll have to learn to live with it, Ron." Ginny said.
