A/N: I posted this a while back but only recently realized it was basically unreadable. My most sincerest apologies! Also, I am happy to say that there will be many many updates for ALL of my stories over the summer because, guess what. I'll be free from my exams yaaayyyyy!
Disclaimer: I don't own Owari no Seraph or any of the characters. If I did I wouldn't be typing this stuff on an ancient Dell laptop.
The Beginning
"Oi, Mika!" Yuu exclaimed. Mika froze mid-step and stared wide eyed at Yuu, like a deer caught in headlights.
"Yuu-chan!" Mika laughed nervously, "why are you up?"
Yuuichi narrowed his eyes and countered, "I could say the same for you."
A beat of silence passed them before the sound of footsteps began to echo outside. With haste, Mika closed the door behind him letting it close with a dull thud.
"Why were you outside Mika? What were you doing?" Yuu interrogated, boring his emerald green eyes into bright azure blue ones. Mika averted his gaze, and instead opted to stare at his feet. With what seemed to be reluctance, Mika brought his gaze up to meet Yuu's intense stare with a smile plastered on his face.
"I wasn't doing anything dangerous, Yuu-chan," he said earnestly. Seeing Yuu's doubtful expression he further reassured, "I promise."
With that, Yuu's worried expression eased into a relieved one.
"Well, let's join the others in bed Yuu-chan!" Mika smiled.
Yuu sighed a closed eye sigh but obediently nodded regardless. The Hyakuya orphans climbed up the ladder, and joined the other children who were all deep asleep. Yuu lay down on his side, his back facing the entrance to their "haven". Yuu closed his eyes, focusing on drifting to sleep. However it was rather hard with the shuffling Mika was sounding.
Yuu furrowed his brows "Mika-"
Mika had wrapped his small arms around Yuu's waist. "Just let me hold you, Yuu-chan," Mika mumbled.
Yuu, for some strange reason, felt his cheeks heat up.
"Mika?" He almost stuttered.
"Hmmm?"
"This isn't the first time you've snuck outside... is it?"
Mika sighed against Yuu's back, his breath warm, sending tingles down Yuu's spine.
"No," the blonde haired orphan admitted. "But I promise not to sneak out again..." he trailed off with a yawn, "goodnight, Yuu-chan."
"Goodnight Mika."
Mika's breathing deepened, and his grip on Yuu loosened. Yuuichi's eyes drooped, but just before he completely drifted off to sleep a soft, almost fond, smile adorned his lips, "Mika... you're a terrible liar."
