The Ladybug jumped from rooftop to rooftop in the middle of the night. It was her turn to patrol Paris, while her lazy cat partner was able to sleep in and relaxed. "I wish I didn't have so much chemistry tonight," she grumbled, furrowing her eyebrows. It was a startling clear night, and she was able to make out constellations in the midst of the sky. She loved all of Paris, especially in the night when it was quieter and more peaceful.
As she jumped, she realized that she was getting closer to a dim light on a roof. Getting ready for a battle, she sprinted closer until she stopped dead in her tracks. The scene before her made her eyes widen in surprise. There was a tablecloth laid neatly across the rooftop, a single candle flickering light on an array of food. What didn't surprise her was the food or the gorgeous view of the Eiffel Tower, but was the figure, lounged calmly on the tablecloth, who slowly turned his head and raised his glass to her.
"My Lady".
She pursed her mouth as if to speak, but he raised his hand. "I already finished the rest of your patrol route. Let's have a night to relax," Chat Noir said smoothly. The Ladybug was about to say no, but when the saw the softness and sincerity in his eyes, she slowly nodded her head with a sigh. He grinned and motioned to her the other side of the candle, where she calmly walked to and sat.
While her exterior was calm and collected, her interior was a panicked mess. Her crush on Adrien was still there, but she had started to feel different towards Chat Noir. Although he was annoying and excitable at times, he also was sweet to a fault. He always seemed to protect Marienette, and although he had the exact opposite personality of Adrien, their tests with danger had brought them closer together.
She turned to Chat Noir to begin a conversation but the words died in her mouth as she looked into his eyes and saw obvious admiration. Marienette quickly looked away, hoping that the darkness was enough to conceal her blush.
"How do you do it?"
The sentence started her and she looked towards him for clarification.
"You're Paris' beloved superhero, you always put your life in danger, and yet, you are still merciful and kind. You walk as though you are queen of the world, and in my heart, you are".
Marienette's mouth opened a little and she somehow made her eyes wider. Cat Noir smiled and reached around the candle for her hand. The light flickered around her face, and seemed to accentuate her already brilliant features of her face.
"You may think that I am a heartless player, and that you are just another girl to me, but you are truly my world". His hand slipped around hers, and with the last statement, he squeezed her hand and desperately waited for her to respond.
She looked straight into his eyes and asked one question, which would help her to decide what would be the next course of action.
"Do you love me?"
Chat Noir looked frightened for a second before looking down and whispering.
"Yes".
The Ladybug brought his chin up with her finger, brought his face close to hers, and whispered back, "I do too".
They simultaneously leaned towards each other and their lips touched for a quick second. Their foreheads pressed together, Chat Noir smiled softly and whispered, "My lady".
