Author's note: I do not own Warehouse 13. If you haven't seen the episode during which this takes place, just know that Pete and Myka are inhabiting the bodies of two Warehouse agents in 1961.

"Pete, I need you to cover for me."

"What? Myka, we're here on limited time. What are you going to do?"

"Just...something."

"Do you really think now is the time for secret missions? Besides...Charlie scares me."

"I know and I'm sorry, but I have to do this. I'll be back in five minutes."

Myka turned on her heel and walked away. She knew they didn't have time to waste, but this was something she had to do.

It took her a while to get to the bronze sector. She wanted to go relatively unnoticed. There were questions that she could not answer, which would only slow them down even more. Finally, she reached the area where H.G. was being kept and found her quickly.

Myka knew that H.G. wouldn't be able to hear her, not to mention that she had no idea who she was. That didn't matter.

"Helena, I know you can't hear me, but I want you to know, everything is going to be okay. I know you're in pain and that will never stop, but I need you to know that it will be all right. You will be all right."

She wanted to stroke H.G.'s face, but the gesture felt too intimate. She settle for touching her arm.

Myka had a job to do. She was on borrowed time in a borrowed body, she had to work and then get home. She had to get back to H.G. herself. But she had difficulty tearing herself away from this woman, this imprisoned woman who already means so much to her.

"It's okay, Helena. It's okay. Just a little longer, friend."
