Ridiculous
It was silly, ridiculous even, to think that there had been anything at all there. They had only interacted for maybe an hour. Most of that had been spent in abject terror, at least on his part anyway. He was a literary man, a playwright. He knew that love was not a thing that was felt at first sight outside of mediocre fiction, much less felt whilst trembling in fear. Yet he couldn't stop his thoughts from wandering to her if he gave them the slightest chance. It was almost funny really. A grown man acting like a schoolboy with his first crush. It truly was ridiculous however, after all, he didn't even know her name, and something told him that another chance encounter was about as likely as a ship crossing a desert. Once again, he wished he could just forget about her.
She found herself wishing, yet again, that she could just forget about him. He was just some guy. Exactly like so many others before him. 'If he's the same as all the others, then why can't you get him out of your head?', asked a traitorous little voice. She hated that it was right, she had been trying and trying, but she found that her thoughts would run back to him the second she loosened her grip on their leash. Love didn't just happen out of nowhere! Well...at least not on her side of things anyway, but that's not the point. The point was that she was not some stupid little schoolgirl! Nothing would ever, could ever, come of it anyway. Their meeting had been completely random. She didn't even know his name. It was ridiculous to think that there had been anything there at all.
