Every night is the best time of my life, the time I get to fall asleep with you in my arms, to feel the warmth coming from you, to feel protected by your arm, its perfection.
Very early every morning I wake up just to watch you sleeping peacefully, to see your hair spread out across the pillow in a messy fashion that still looks perfect to me. To hear you gently snoring and as your chest slowly rises and falls with your gentle breathing. This is the Sandra that I like to see most, as much I love the Sandra at work, she's in boss mode here she's just herself.
"Evening" I joke as she finally wakes up.
"Why didn't you wake me? Or get a coffee or something?"
"I was happy laying here watching you sleep. Do you know you're perfect even when you're sleeping?" she laughs and I know she'll soon be into boss mode as it's nearly 7.
"Ready?" she asks as she stands beside the door.
"Nope." I reply.
"Well why not? It's time for work."
"I'm going until you wipe all that rubbish of your face."
"I guess you're not coming to work today then, don't expect me to put it down as paid holiday."
"You idiot." She laughs at me as I push her onto the sofa while I hold a wipe in my hand. "Get off! NO! No." she speaks between giggles, although she's trying to fight me off she's not doing an overly good job of it and I soon get to her face and wipe the rubbish of it.
"Time to go." I say as I stand by the door and she reappears having properly taken off all the make-up as I hadn't fully succeeded and she'd figured she wasn't going to get out the door with it on.
"Hang on." She calls as she walks back through into the kitchen and grabs her lunch and comes back through. "Now I'm ready."
"Finally."
"Let's remember who delayed us this morning Gerry."
In the office was quiet but Jack and Brian had now gone out so I have Sandra to myself. She's staring out the window and almost jumps out of her skin when I come up and hug her from behind.
"Are the other two out?"
"Yeah and they said they probably won't be back into tonight but they'll ring you to update you."
Now though we're back home and laying in bed chatting about nothingness and I can see her eyes fighting to stay open but she soon looses that fight and she's now fast asleep. I still can't get used to how different she is at home and the office, you'd think it was two different people.
"Go to sleep!" She says as she turns back over and slyly whacks me with a pillow, now there's no way I'm going to sleep, not if she's going to be like this.
