Hello friends! This is my first one-shot, so please be kind.
{Fiery Crimson (FC) Cerulean Blue (CB)}
FC: So what do you think?
CB: Good. Glad to know that you are taking my advice about writing one-shots.
FC: Yes. I do like to write one-shots. Especially for Hayate No Gotoku
CB: So let's begin shall we?
FC: Hmmm…
CB: And by the way Fiery Crimson does not own Hayate No Gotoku!
It's been three years….three years since he died.
Hayate.
Who would have known that the great Hayate was slowly killing himself for my sake? If only I knew….I would have tried to stop him. He took his duties way too seriously. It's my fault. He did this to protect me. If only I tried to understand him better maybe…….maybe he would still be here. With me……
"Nagi?" I slowly wiped away my tears. I wouldn't want anybody to see the student's council President like that now, would I?
"Come in," I said in a cold and firm voice. I forgot, Hinagiku resigned from this position a long time ago and somehow I got in.
"Long time no see, Nagi." I looked at her.
"Nishizawa-san? Please have a seat and How did you get in?" I asked her surprised. Oh, and I stopped calling her hamster.
"Wataru," she replied as she sat and continued, "I see, you have changed a lot. Last time I saw you were still lamenting over his….his…" She stopped. I wouldn't blame her though. It must have been really hard for her. I tried to start a conversation.
"So how is Kazuki?" It's been a long time since I saw him.
"He is fine. Sometimes he is a bit silly though. What about Maria?" she asked. I nodded my head.
"Fine," I replied. Hayate's death was a shock to her. But still she tried to smile……for me. But I know she is hurting inside. She is stronger than me. She is extremely pleased about me being the student council President. But I wouldn't have been if Hinagiku didn't resign.
I sighed.
Things really did change after he died. I stopped playing games and watching animes. And that manga I wrote, I burned it the day he died. I am much more serious and mature now. Maybe it is because I am 16. Or maybe.....
"Nagi?" I snapped out of my thoughts.
"Hmm?"
"I have to go now. I am sure you have a lot of work to do. After all being a student council President isn't easy," she said standing up with a painful smile. I saw it.
"So…How is Hinagiku?" I asked uneasily.
"She is fine. After all it's been 3 years," she replied with a reassuring smile.
"Yes," I said trying to smile. Before she went out she turned to look at me and smiled sincerely.
"Try to move on Nagi. I am sure he wants that too. Goodbye," she said and walked away.
"Goodbye," I replied smiling honestly for the first time in those three years. Maybe she is right…just maybe…
