She came in the Mystic Grill with one goal in mind. Distract Klaus. That was her focus of the night. Distract Klaus and save Elena.
Determined she walked towards the hybrid original that sat on a stool in front of the bar where yesterday only, a one-man, or hybrid, massacre had taken place. But Connor was gone and could do no harm to this already tragedy filled town known as Mystic Falls.
Yet there lied the problem. Connor's death, caused by the newest baby vampire, was causing Elena to have hallucinations. Full-scaled hallucinations that had even gotten Klaus to care a little bit. He had taken her into a safe zone, where apparently she wouldn't or couldn't kill herself.
It seemed funny to her that she always played bait. Her nickname should have been Caroline-the-original-hybrid-bait more than Care bear.
"This place looks pretty good considering your hybrid got blown up in it," she said as she slid her leather jacket off. She was playing all her assets from snarky remark to well shaped cheerleading body. Her shirt was almost a backless one and curved deeply in the front showing some cleavage.
"Caroline," a deep British accentuated voice replied. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"
Caroline walked over to the bar and her hands knocked slightly on the wood of the bar before speaking.
"I want you to give Elena back," her forwardness didn't surprise him anymore. There was once a time when someone replied to him in such manner he or she would have been headless or heartless in the next few seconds.
Realization spread across Klaus' face.
"Ah, he sent you to sweet talk me," he tone was factual and he had a sudden interest in staring at his drink. "Well, good for him but I am afraid I can't do it." He then brought his blue eyes to Caroline's.
"Why not?"
"She needs my help." Caroline scoffed as she rolled her eyes. "Look, I am not going to bore you with gory details you have enough on your plate already." Klaus was trying to be genuinely nice to her and Caroline was about to throw it all back into his face.
"That's none of your business, actually." Her eyes grew cold for a second as she sent a glare at him. The young vampire sat down on the stool next to Klaus and deep down she knew that soon she was going to regret.
"Yes, well, just know that if Tyler was still sired to me, he never would have hurt you."
Caroline's head snapped up but only to find the Original paying a particular attention to his drink once again. She couldn't believe what she had just heard. Of course she knew that Klaus was infatuated with her, the key word being infatuated. She would never have thought that his feelings could go to the extent of wanting her to be safe from bad relationships.
Then his face met hers and his eyes bore into hers as if he could see into her very soul.
"I wouldn't have let him."
She was seeing a side of Klaus that she didn't know existed. Klaus was opening himself to her.
Trying to break the somewhat awkward silence Klaus asked if he could at least by her a drink.
Caroline hesitated. "Yeah, sure." She couldn't help but feel as if she had just sold her soul to the devil. Or what was left of it anyway.
