Kale POV

I was walking through my castle in the Bog's when a knock interrupted my thoughts. I walked down the corridor, my long pale blue dress flowing behind me. Matching corset as tight as it could. I reached the door and Librettowit met me there. "Good afternoon, Kale." He nodded in my direction. "You to, Wit." I said, smiling. I opened the door and Dar and Toopka stood there. It had been years since I had seen all my friends last. I hadn't seen Bardon since he left to become a knight. He probably married a worthy woman. Honestly, I missed his pressence. "Dar! Toopka! I've missed you so much! Have you heard from Bardon?" I said, hugging the one at a time. Dar's face was forlorn. "Well, my dear Kale. Yes, I have heard from him." He said, then his frown turned into a wide grin. 'Hello, Kale.' A voice said in my head. Does he have a wife? Does he love me? 'My thoughts belong to me and Wulder.' "Bardon!" I gasped aloud. Bardon trudged through the entrance and grabbed me in a tight hug. "I've missed you!" I said, hugging him back. "I've missed you to, dear Kale." He said, laughing. "Come in, all of you!" I said with glee, ushering them in. "Regidor and Gilda should be here soon as well, Kale. They have quite the surprise." Bardon told me. I nodded. "Librettowit! Look what the cat dragged in!" I shouted and Wit came, slowly, down the corridor. "Bardon! Toopka! Dar!" He exclaimed. He patted Bardon and Dar on the shoulder, and he hugged Toopka. "Wheres Wizard Fen?" Toopka asked. My face probably expressed what I was feeling: Distant. "He's... gone, Toopka." I whispered. Wizard Fenworth had passed away, and Toopka knew it to. She just didn't believe it. Bardon clapped me on the back. "It's alright." He said, whether to me or Toopka I don't know. But I was comforted. Bardon turned to me. "Since this is technically a gathering of past quests, I invited N'Rae and Granny Kye. I hope you don't mind, Kale." He told me. I plastered a huge fake smile on my face. "Of course. Follow me." I said, sharply leading them all to the dining room. Dar had a confused look on his face. 'It's nothing.' I told him through my mind. 'Ah, it is the dear N'Rae that bothers you! Well, I know something that might make you feel better...' Dar was cut off by Bardon saying; "Kale? Shall I get the door or would you like to get it?" I looked up at the taller knight. The door? Oh! She was here. "I've got it, Bardon." I said, blandly and went to fetch the door. "Kale!" N'Rae said when I opened the door. "Hello and Welcome." I said then turned and said; "Follow me." They followed me to the dining room where Dar and Bardon were waiting outside the door. "Wait here a moment, please." I said then went back to Dar and Bardon. "Why aren't you in the dining room?" I asked, puzzled. Bardon sighed, exasperated. "Kale, why are you so jealous all of a sudden?" He asked, clearly annoyed. Dar nodded in agreement. "What? You think I'm jealous? Jealous of what?" I scoffed. Dar clucked with his tongue. "N'Rae." He said, pointedly. I was jealous of her. Bardon obviousley loved her in some way. I opened my mouth to disagree, when Dar yelled; "No! You're doing it wrong!" and scurried to catch up with Taylaminkadot, Librettowits wife. I forgot about my little connection with Bardon. "She's my cousin." Bardon said before pulling me close to him and kissing me.
