"Fallen In Your Sleep"

It is 1:00 am and seventeen year old Bobby Cook is not tired. He can't remember the last time he had a good night sleep, but he knows what it feels like. Bobby doesn't want to sleep though. When he sleeps he sees him, the burnt man in the red and green sweater with the rusty long knives. To show how tired Bobby is, he is watching the late, late show on televison. A black and white film so bad that he does not want to remember the name of it.

Bobby sits up on the sofa when he hears the creak in the hallway. He looks around the living room of 1428 Elm Street. He has lived here for a year now, with his parents. That's when the sleepless nights started. So he gets up from the couch and looks at the dark hallway. He doesn't hear anything at first, then he hears footsteps wandering up an down.

"Who's there?"

Bobby admits he is afraid to enter the hallway. Who wouldn't be, when they hear those heavy footsteps? Bobby has never believed in ghost until he moved into this house. Now he thinks that is all he is hearing.

"Who's there?"

"Freddy."

When Bobby hears the name Freddy whispered in a low voice, he takes two steps back. He sees a tall shadow of a man standing in the hallway. He watches as the walls of the room change to red and green. He suddenly sees a dirty brown hat hanging on the coat rack. Then he hears the creaking of the footsteps again and the creepy deep laughing.

"What do you want?"

"You have something of mine."

"Whats that?"

"Your soul."

Freddy is now standing behind Bobby. He grabs him by his forehead and he leans his head back. He runs a blade from the top of his forehead down to his throoat and adams apple. Bobby is sweating now and he can feel the heat in the room. Freddy turns Bobby around and leans in closer to him. He can see the badly burned marks on Freddy's face.

"I hear you are afraid of heights?"

"Yes I am."

"Make sure you wake up before you fall."

Freddy shoves Bobby with both hands. He thinks he is falling to the floor, but he is not. He was pushed off a giant cliff. The floor underneath has opened up to a black hole. He can feel his heart beat faster the more he falls. It feels like it is about to explode the way it is pumping.

Bobby's nightmare finally comes to a tragic end. The fear he had of dying in his sleep has happened. When his body layes on the couch, blood spurts out of his mouth, and yes, his heart explodes. In his nightmare, Bobby hits the ground hard and he dies on sudden impact. In reality, he died from a major heart attack.
