A/N: I do not own criminal minds, obviously.
I wrote this during a free, so it may not be all too great, but I was incredibly bored. Emily and JJ are 16/17 and yeah, enjoy.
Emily had been left on her own for the afternoon again. Her friends either had lessons or had gone home early. She knew she wouldn't be able to concentrate on work, she never really could, but she needed to at least make herself look busy. She decided to go to the library, it's quiet, pretty much empty all the time and she could grab a laptop, sit in the corner and just ignore things for a while.
30 minutes had passed and Emily realised all she had done was scroll hopelessly through pointless websites and listen to covers of songs on youtube. She didn't know what to do with herself. There was a massive pile of work in her folder left unfinished from weeks ago. Scraps of paper where she had began writing essays and half written notes from lessons that she gave up with after just a few minutes.
It was always her friends that managed to get her to at least do a little work. It was her final year at school, she already had 2 offers from universities, she just needed the grades. But right now, she just couldn't focus on any of her work.
She was becoming easily distracted by herself. Her stomach was aching, she hadn't eaten much today, she never did when she felt down. Her head was pounding and her eyelids were fighting to stay open due to the lack of sleep the night before. She started spinning on her chair, not enough to draw attention to herself, but enough to entertain herself and definitely enough for procrastination. She had never really noticed just quite many books there were in the library. Each one containing something completely new. Some contained fantasies and fairytales, whilst others held facts about subjects which were practically foreign to Emily.
It was whilst she was aimlessly spinning on her chair and thinking somewhat deeply about books that she noticed someone walk in the room. She didn't recognise the girl, she must be in the year below, but she sure did attract Emily's attention. The girl was slightly shorter than Emily herself, she had blonde hair reaching to just past her shoulders, and was carrying a folder full of work along with a bag loosely hanging on her back.
Emily noticed the girl looking round to try and find a place to sit, the room was practically empty, there were plenty of seats. Emily realised the girl was looking towards her so quickly drew her attention back to the laptop.
'Hi, I was just wondering if I could sit with you. It's just I'd rather not look like a loner in here..?'
'Yeah sure, that's fine'
'Thanks, I'm JJ by the way.'
'Hi JJ, I'm Emily…'
Emily seemed to have found a new form of procrastination in the form of Jennifer Jareau.
Please review, it makes me happy :)
