LUNA

She was unusual, anyone admitted. She was curious, mysterious, she made everybody think. When she looked at you, her eyes popped but we knew they would never look daunting, because everything was innocent and new throughout the huge orbs.

I wondered why she hung around for so long, even after she was well and to her normal weight. She had to gain back twenty-eight pounds, Fleur had told me, but Luna never mentioned even how she got the gash on the inside of her right elbow.

It was obvious, she was brave. Braver than anyone I knew. And she was so intelligent that most likely people shivered in intimidation. I didn't even understand half the things she mentioned as she told me stories, sleeping bag next to sleeping bag, inside the snug living room, the ocean waves hitting the rocks and the fire crackling in the background.

But everything amazed me about her, because who said differences were wrong? It wasn't as if she was making all of those facts up at the top of her head. And she told me that some day we'd go Crumple Horned Snorkak hunting. I don't understand what those are, even now. Maybe a combination of moose and elephant, I don't know.

Luna knew exactly how they looked, and they looked ferocious but were actually quite tame. Luna knew, and I tried to soak it all in.

She made me so confused every day, and I could not stop coming back for more. Even after Voldemort's defeat, when I had thought it was all over, Luna grabbed my hand and we apporated to her house. It was natural for her, I suppose.

One of the worst and best days was when we landed at her home, at that point torn up, demolished, like a bomb hit it from ten feet away. I understood then how much I appreciated her and her beauty. Everything was wonder-full about her. I never thought of wind being magical until her silvery blonde waves caught the breeze. And when her eyes grew even wider and more pure as she took in lighthouse-shaped house in front of her.

I heard her brain whirling while we carefully stepped over the half of door that not yet turned to dust, and I knew that she was trying to understand who could do it all.

By that time, she had walked away, following the path of dusted wood to her rounded kitchen. A printing press machine lay on the only stair that stood, and soot-colored newspapers sat alone in the middle of the room, formed in a perfect pile.

Undesirable No.1.

Her mouth stood wide. Through the broken window, the wind struck her hair so her vision was taken. She did not push it away.

"We will fix it, Luna."

She turned but did not stare, as if she already knew what she saw. I reached my hand out and she took it in both. My arm was a rope she needed to pull, and when she reached me, she let her head sink down onto my chest and herself be cradled.

"It's a new beginning, Luna, and it's alright," I whispered, feeling her lightly shake as I closed my eyes, salt-water filling the corner of my eyes. "Everything will be alright."

I have finished a story! Yay! And hopefully more is to come...

Review if you liked it. I think I need to add a little more to it (very short, right?), but I had the need to publish it :)
