Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter.
He Watched
He watched the boy grow up from his first year at Hogwarts.
He watched the boy go through all the struggles of adolescence, along with the struggles of fighting off the Dark Lord.
He watched him when he arrived at the beginning of the school year, happy as could be, and left at the end of the school year, sad to be leaving for many reasons including the most recent of Hogwarts tragedies, and the return to the Dursleys.
He watched as he made friends with that Weasley kid, and that know-it-all Granger.
He watched him as they repeatedly broke school rules every year.
He watched his memories as he taught him occlumency, and felt the pain the boy had endured through abuse, grief, and loss.
He watched Dumbledore grow close to the boy.
He was shocked when he realized that the boy had his old Potions book.
He watched all these things through imperceptibly watchful eyes, always keeping a special one on the boy.
Because even though he knew very well that the boy was the spitting image of his father, James Potter-
that the boy also had his mothers eyes.
And that was all that he truly watched for.
Just a little drabble.
I just read the series for the first time over Christmas break, and Snape was easily my favorite character.
I'd like reviews to mostly tell me if I had him in character or not, as I plan to maybe do something more with him later on.
R&R, please.
