Chapter 5

I awoke in what looked like a sewer. My vision was blurry; I blinked to try and wash away being groggy. My head spun and ached, the room swirled around me. I moved my head to try and survey the room. When everything came into focus I was startled. Panicked, I tried to run. My ankles were strapped to something. "Fuck!" I cursed out-loud. Strapped at my wrists and ankles I squirmed.

Panic spread through every once of my body. It felt like ice water was being dripped into my veins. "Hello?" I yelled out. No one replied. "Hello!" I shouted once again, no reply. "Anyone!" Nothing. I sighed. Probably a drug dealer my mom forgot to pay, maybe one like the ones in the movies where they request 10,000$ in unmarked bills, left behind the daycare at three. For ever minute over they wait, the cut off a limb. As much as I want to die, the thought still sent daggers of ice into my blood.

I tried one more time at the restraints. I moved my feet and hands until my wrists hurt and I'm pretty sure my ankles are bleeding. Then I heard it, "Buzz!" "Click!" and advancing footsteps. I panicked. I yanked at the restraints. I tugged, pulled, pushed, squirmed and slipped. Nothing worked. The thud of footsteps quickened towards me.

I couldn't make out a face through the fog of the room, all I saw was a figure, a silhouette. The silhouette. The silhouette of the man who saved me.
