Valerie stopped her clapping and approached Danny. She couldn't believe - she couldn't understand - that the boy she had a crush on was the same ghost that had sworn over and over to destroy. It crushed her heart. How could she do such a thing?

Dozens of times he had saved her. And she didn't trust him. She should have. She should have known it was him. The same style of hair. The same voice. The appearance was whenever Danny left.

Valerie finally gathered enough courage to ask. "It was you?"

"Yeah," Danny smiled, rubbing the back of his neck. Then, he frowned. "So am I still going to be wasted away?"

Valerie stammered. For a long moment, she didn't know what to do. Then, to Danny's upmost shock, she threw her arms around him and gave him a hug. "I'm sorry, Danny. I didn't know that it was you."

Danny chuckled. "Hey, almost everybody didn't know. Besides, I'm sure you would have figured it out sooner or later."

The young ghost hunter looked up at him, completely appalled. "How could you forgive me? Dozens of times I tried to hunt you down! I even attempted to turn you over to Vlad."

Danny gave her a comforting look. "You didn't know, Valerie."

Valerie stepped back, holding out a hand. "So can we start over?"

Danny smiled and grabbed Valerie's hand with his own. "Yeah." However, just as soon as Valerie's hand was in his, Danny swung her body over his head and brought her down on her back.

"OW!" Valerie cried out in pain, glaring up at Danny. "What was that for, Fenton?"

Danny grinned. "Payback. For what you did to me in the Axion lab when the ghost dog went home."

Valerie's glare stopped and soon she found herself smiling. "Good one, Fenton."

How was it? Pretty good? :) Please review. :)
