Chapter 8
The room stayed quiet, I didn't dare speak, for fear they would hit me with another 20,000 Watts of electricity. I stayed down, my head kept down. I heard the screen flick on again. Hope filled my heart and my head shot up. Nothing was on the other end but a crowd of all types of aliens. Purple with feathery Mohawks, green and covered in scales. Everything looked alien. I searched the crowed for The Doctor, nothing. The voices boomed in the speakers
"Behold! The key to the universe. The ultimate weapon. Kaisia Reeds, daughter of Benjamin Reeds, bearer of the one item holding this universe together." I lowered my head once more. I'm not some kind of circus freak. I didn't know what they meant by I held the universe together, or who Benjamin Reeds was. I decided to speak my mind.
"I'm not some kind of circus freak for you to all oh and ah at!" I shouted. Another jolt of electricity racked my body. This time, stronger than the last. I felt like a caged animal, being displayed for the pleasure of families. I screamed against the pain that shook through me, and collapsed again. Too exhausted to raise my head again. The cuffs had burnt right through my pants leg, so they touched bare skin now.
"Kaisia Reeds, sold to the highest bidder!" The voice said again. I was being auctioned off? My brain hurt, I stayed still, words slurred around me, I could hardly make anything out of what people said, only one thing; a high pitched scream that came through the speakers. The noise caused my head to scream with pain, the last thing I heard was "shouldn't let a man with sonic devices near a sound system," before I blacked out from the pain in my head.
