It's Christmas, and everyone was waiting for a new friend to come over to live with them. "I hope we get something different than a cat." said Lulu.

"What's wrong with having cat friends?" asked Jessica.

"Nothing. I just think we have enough cats for a long time." Suddenly, the doorbell rang.

"I got it." said Stripes as he went over to get the door. Standing at the doorway was a puppy made entirely of gingerbread.

"Are you really made of gingerbread?" asked Stripes.

"Yes. You must be Stripes." said the puppy.

"I am he. And you must be Gingersnap. That's a really unique name." said Stripes.

"Thank you. Is it okay if I come in? It's a little cold out here."

"Sure." He let Gingersnap in the house.

"You must be our new family member." said Spark.

"Oh. We have lots of other animals living here, too. You'll get used to all of their names and faces eventually." said Stripes.

"Are you guys having a great Christmas now that I'm here?" asked Gingersnap.

"We are. Thanks for asking." said Alley.
