Moon Fall

Hello, my name is Chloe. I am 13 years old living in a family of five. My brother's name is Dave, and my sister's name is Elisa. I would like to share the story of how a small smiling moon changed my life forever.

Here we were in Termina, a family of Hylians from the land above. We were all born in Hyrule, but we ended up going literally under ground. The Terminian race didn't seem to notice that we were different. I went to a Terminan school, the teachers were always nice. We owned a large house with lots of animals and valuable items. Most of the animals were cucco chicks. I had a few friends...but not many. I was never good at making friends to be honest.

It seemed to be a normal day; the sun was shining, the workers down in Clock Town were hammering away, but then...I looked up in the sky...the moon was abnormally close to the ground. I was thinking, I sure hope the moon doesn't effect our festival in a few days. Kids at school were spreading rumors that the moon would fall.

"It's okay dear, it won't fall," my mother laughed at me, "Who has ever heard of a moon falling?!"I saw that as a reasonable response.

Not thinking more about it, I went outside again. I stepped out and took a deep breath, a slight wind ruffled my long brown hair. I noticed that there was a lot of people who looked as if they were from Hyrule, but I knew they weren't, which made me a bit sad.

I saw a little Deku Scrub boy, and he seemed to be looking for someone. He was wearing a little green skirt that most Deku Scrubs seem to wear, but no top, which was odd. And another thing that set him apart from most Scrubs was that he had sandy blonde and a hat that felt like I had seen it from somewhere, although I couldn't put my finger on it. As he looked over towards my general direction, I saw his eyes. I don't know whether to call them freaky, or sad, but something about his yellow-orangeish eyes, coupled with the rest of his face, that made me want to either take off screaming and running back towards home until I hit my mother, or just break down crying right then and there.

"Hello..." I said to the boy.

He turned and pointed to the moon which was staring down at our clock tower.

"The moon? Are you scared of it?" I asked.

He just made a squeak noise that I could not understand.

"You can't speak Hylian...nor Terminian?" I asked.

He nodded his wooden head.

"I don't think the moon is going to fall...do you?" I asked.

He nodded again.

"Where are you from anyways?" I asked him.

He pointed into the sky. I looked up.

"Hyrule?!" I asked.

He nodded yet again.

"I'm from Hyrule too!" I said. I studied him a bit, making a few observations, "Wait a second...green hat and a fairy? You're Link!"

The Deku boy nodded.

"But...how come you look like a Deku? Never mind, that's not important," I said quickly.

Link waved goodbye and quickly skittered away, carefully avoiding that annoying dog. I turned and entered the house, unsure of what to do.
