For Katy, with much love and many hugs

Katie Wood stepped into the Three Broomsticks on a bright, sunny Saturday in September. Autumn was just beginning to descend upon them, and she was glad—it had always been her favorite season in school, and now that she was an adult with Hogwarts-aged children it meant alone time with her husband. And, consequently, lovely get-togethers with friends.

Sitting at a table in the corner were two beautiful, muscled women leaning over their firewhiskey to whisper to each other. Giggles punctured every other word.

"Angie, Leesh!" Katie called, threading through the tables to make her way to her friends.

"Katie! It's so good to see you!" Angelina Johnson said, standing and hugging her younger friend.

"Hey, Wood, how's…Wood?" asked Alicia Weasley, her hand on her pregnant stomach and a smirk on her face.

Katie grinned. "Which one?" She sat in the chair left open for her and smiled. "So how's George and Lee?"

"Lee," Angelina spat spitefully, "is absolutely fine without getting married!"

"Well, what did you expect from him? He's male, he's George's best friend, and he's liked you for ages." Alicia pointed these things out matter-of-factly. "George was the same way, till his mum broke down and bought me the ring herself."

Her friends grinned, remembering how the last Weasley Wedding had come about. "Got to love men—you can't live with them, and no way in hell could you live without them," Katie said.

Angelina couldn't help but smile. "That's okay. I'm going to kill him anyway, so all will be well."

Her friends laughed and continued to share anecdotes, smiles, and secrets until they were absolutely empty of everything.

"Merlin, I'm so glad we did this!" Katie said as she grabbed her half-finished butterbeer bottle and prepared to head home. "Let me know when Lee comes around, Angie. Bye, girls!" With hugs, they all Apparated their separate ways, friendship in their hearts and smiles on their faces.
