My favorite movie in the FOP series was Fairly Odd Baby, and surprisingly there isn't much about it. This struck me as odd, so I've decided to try my hand at FOP fanfiction and write some stuff about what could have happened during the sections of the pregnancy we didn't see. Let's start with the basics.
Breaking the news to Mama Cosma.
Fairly Odd Parents (c) Butch Hartman
Cosmo almost wanted to be doing something else with his time.
Believe it or not, his mother was not the most understanding person, especially when it came to the business between him and his wife. And Cosmo's mother, commonly known as "Mama Cosma," was about to receive news that she never thought she'd hear. Oh, how Cosmo wished his godchild actually had some mayhem for him to fix.
Even as they were arriving at Mama Cosma's house, Wanda could see that Cosmo was ready for the trip to be over. She knew he wasn't feeling good that morning anyway but they had been planning to tell Mama Cosma for a few weeks now. Cosmo felt that he wanted to get it over and done with for fear that his mother would be even more furious should she find out when the due date was close.
Cosmo stopped in his steps. His mother's house was in sight and he couldn't get rid of the butterflies in his stomach. Wanda backtracked towards him and held his arm, encouraging him forward. He squeezed her hand even as she knocked on the door.
The door swung open and Mama Cosma all but glared at Wanda before giving her son a welcoming kiss on the forehead. He smiled and walked into the familiar home, his hand still tight around Wanda's.
"What brings you all the way out here, Cosmo? Still haven't gotten a new wife?"
Cosmo brushed the comment off. "Mama…Wanda and I have something to tell you."
She softened her features to her son's expression. "What is it?" Suddenly she lit up. "Are you divorcing Wanda?"
Wanda made a face at the question but rubbed the small of Cosmo's back. He needed the comfort now more than ever. "You may want to take a seat for this," she said as she guided Cosmo down to the couch as well.
Mama Cosma took a seat in the chair beside her coffee table, preparing for any news that her son might hit her with. She could see the color in Cosmo's face disappear. His eyes wouldn't meet his mothers and Wanda had to keep massaging and rubbing at his back and arms. She could hear the whispers on encouragement and it was obvious that the news was more Cosmo's than Wanda's responsibility.
"Well?" she asked, growing slightly impatient.
Cosmo audibly swallowed and held onto his wife's hand a little more softly. "Mama…" he began, "…I'm pregnant."
". . ."
Thump.
"Mama! She fainted!"
Cliche but apparently not for Mama Cosma.
