"Welcome to the Annual 2016 Masquerade Themed Prom! Hope you have a great and mysterious time!"
Sean walked in greeted by those exact words. His mind raced with so many thoughts. The song, Cold Water by Justin Bieber was playing, and dozens of other students littered the floor dancing and singing to it. He threw a glance at his group of friends, Wade and Bob who beckoned him over. Bob was standing with his girlfriend Mary, who was wearing a black and red gothic styled dress, and a black glittery mask. Bob was dressed in a plain, black, tuxedo with a silver mask on him. Wade was wearing a white tuxedo, and a checkered mask. Sean, of course, wore a black tuxedo, and had a Phantom of the opera styled mask on.
"Yo Sean what's up?!" asked Bob, yelling over the music.
"Nothing much Bob, just waiting for someone to arrive."
"Ooohhh, is it a special someone?", chimed Wade.
"Lay off of him Wade" ,exclaimed Mary throwing an angry look at the grinning boy.
At that very second, the door opened, and people were oohing and aahing. The group of friends turned around to see a beautiful girl walk in. She wore a pink and black Victorian style dress, and her face was hidden under a dazzling, white mask. Glitter covered the mask, and one half was shaped like a butterfly wing, whilst the other side was in the shape of a plain mask. Her long, black and pink, and silky hair was braided. Little glitter flakes could be seen in the light. She stood there for a second, eyeing the place, and walked over to the group where Jack, Bob, Wade, and Mary were. The group looked on in astonishment, as the girl took Jack by the hand, and led him to the dance floor. The song, Future Looks Good by One Republic played, as the couple danced across the floor. People stared at them, as the two waltzed around. The girl then lifted her head up, and Jack recognized her facial features. His eyes widened, as a single word, a name, slipped from his mouth.
"Marcy"
The girl smiled timidly, and pulled Jack in. Their noses touched, and then their lips. The entire dance floor started cheering, as the two pulled away.
"I didn't know you would be here. I expected you to be at home studying for the exams." Murmured Sean against Marcy's lips.
"Yeah…but I think spending time with you is so much more important than sitting home, and studying…" replied Marcy looking at Sean with those enchanting, brown, eyes. Jack's piercing blue eyes stared back, and his tiny smile grew a little wider, and he whispered "silly" before kissing her again. The two then rejoined the group, and danced the night away under the glass ceiling.
