Tomorrow would be the day. Tomorrow would be the day that the war of Japan would finally come to an end, with one, final battle. And even now, this would be a simple win for Ieyasu. Most if not all of Hideyoshi's army sided with him. It wouldn't have mattered if none of Hideyoshi's army sided with him anyways; he had some of the strongest Warriors in the land and could easily smother Mitsunari's army no matter what size.
He chuckled. Why was Mitsunari even fighting? Was he just begging to be crushed into the ground? He chuckled again. "What a baby. He needs other men to protect him." Ieyasu said to himself. He loathed Mitsunari more than the Toyotomi clan did his battle skills, and would probably need to take advantage of that tomorrow. What an all mighty fool he was.
His door slid open, and the clop of metal boots filled the room. "Takatora. Good to see you." Ieyasu said, turning towards the man. The ice in Takatora's gaze was always one that only a few people could place. Perhaps he was leaving the Tokugawa, knowing how finicky he was with who he worked for. But probably not; knowing that changing sides this late would be rather ludicrous.
"Something bothering you Takatora?" Ieyasu asked. "Not really. I just heard you talking about Mitsunari," Takatora sat in front of Ieyasu. "And I was wondering if I could hear more of it." Takatora said. His gaze was locked onto Ieyasu. Ieyasu chuckled again. "Mitsunari's a brat. He's just fighting because he want to hurt everyone." Ieyasu grumbled. "Not like that's changed. He always hurts people. Deserves it though." Ieyasu added.
Takatora grunted. "Ieyasu..." Ieyasu looked at Takatora. The ice in his eyes were close to creating a blizzard in the room. He stood up. "Ieyasu you are grounded for talking smack about Mitsunari. This means No Tadakatsu, No Sekigahara, No leadership, No life and more." Takatora's cold gaze tried to slice Ieyasu (it was a surprise it didn't). He pulled out his blade in a single, fluid motion. His arm that had the sword in his hand pointed straight towards Ieyasu's room.
"Go to your room. You are grounded forever." Takatora spat at Ieyasu. Ieyasu looked for even the slightest bit of sympathy in Takatora's eyes. The ice wasn't melting, leaving Ieyasu with no choice but to walk into his room. He slammed to door behind him. Ieyasu was dumbfounded that Takatora had found a nick in his plan for conquest! It was out of his own folly he was now no longer to achieve his dreams. He shouldn't have talked smack about Mitsunari. Now, he would never rule the land.
He was paying the consequences.
Hearing a soft knock at the door, Mitsunari shifted in his bed. "Give me a moment. I'm not decent." He grumbled groggily. "It's Yoshitsugu, and this is extremely important." Mitsunari made a desolate sigh, not sure what to expect. "Still, give me a moment." Mitsunari slipped his robe, and tied his belt on. He walked over to the door, and opened it. Yoshitsugu's eyes had a miffed look in his eyes.
"I don't know if you'll take this seriously, but this is how it happened alright." Yoshitsugu sighed, obviously annoyed. "It certainly seems to be getting to you, so you might as well say it." Mitsunari said, folding his arms. Yoshitsugu sighed again. "Long story short; Ieyasu was talking smack about you and Takatora heard. Now Ieyasu is grounded for life in his castle." Yoshitsugu said.
Mitsunari's hands were shaking with rage. "You're saying we just got everything ready for Sekigahara, only to find out that we're not going to be fighting?!" Mitsunari almost shouted. "I'm afraid so. At least you're the ruler of Japan now." Yoshitsugu replied.
