Don't Forget Nine

Rose Tyler stared at the man in front of her. He was tall and strong, his leather jacket hugging close to his shoulders. He deep set eyes framed a long nose that hovered above two pale pink lips and a chin that was sternly chiseled. His eyes could shine as bright as the stars and cut out someone's soul with just one look. His hands were rough and his fingers long and purposeful.

The way he held himself said 'villain' and she was sometimes taken aback by his sudden ferocity; however, he never ceased to amaze her with his quick wit and childish personality. She noticed that he never said or did anything without a clear purpose and he didn't take war or crime lightly. He was an honourable man who stood for justice and mercy.

His quirky accent always made her giggle and the way his eyes lit up when he was happy never failed to make her smile. He was hers and she was his and that was the way that she wanted it to be. They could speak easily with each other and their time together were some of the best times she had ever experienced. They never ran out of things to say, things to learn, places to go, and people to save. She was scared and nervous to travell with him at first, but now she could feel her heart speed up with an adrenaline rush every time he showed up.

This man was so strong and protective until the very end. When he was changing, or about to change, he made her feel comfortable and relaxed and talked her through everything that was going to happen. She was going to miss this man, this traveller who protected fiercely and loved with everything he had. She was going to miss his sarcasm and wit and all of his little quirks and oddities that made him special. He was an amazing balance of anger and fun and she wished she could stay with him. She didn't understand how he was changing or why, but she knew that she would miss this man.

Her last thought of him before his hands and face emitted a gold fire was that he was her Saviour and she was his Bad Wolf. He was her teacher, and she was her student. He was her Doctor and she was his Rose and that's how she wanted it to stay, now and forever. As his new face appeared, she said one last silent goodbye to her first and best companion and studied his new face.

This one had friendly brown eyes and a pearly white smile with outrageously perfect hair. His accent was English, just English, not the fun Northern English she had grown to love. His eyes weren't as sharp, nor his face as stern. As for his hair…well, she couldn't really say anything bad about his utterly brilliant hair.

As they travelled together, she learned that this new Doctor was the tenth regeneration form of the Doctor she had spent a year with. Those adventures with Ten were beautiful and fun, filled with excitement and surprises. She realised that she had grown to love the Doctor, the man who showed her the world.

Although Ten was the one who spent the most time with her, and burnt up a sun just to say goodbye, she realised that, yes, she had fallen in love with this man, but not the man saying goodbye. She fell in love with the man who made her feel comfortable and called her fantastic. Nine was hers and she was Nine's and that's how it would stay, forever and always.

Every night, as she stands on Bad Wolf Bay, holding Ten Too's hand and looking up at the sky, she thinks of him and never forgets. She will never forget her Doctor, her first real Doctor. She will never forget Nine.
