I've kind of been stuck on Maria Hill X Steve Rogers's stories. Since there clearly aren't enough of them I wrote my own. And Phil is alive because I like him damn it! Set some time after the Avengers movie. I don't own the characters.

Steve silently watched as Agent Hill went about her business. She moved with purpose and confidence around Stark tower that also served as home to the Avengers. Since Phil was still recovering from the injury he sustained from confronting Loki, director Fury assigned Hill to be their liaison. So far it was working out ok. Steve noticed that she was most comfortable with Natasha and Clint, probably because they both SHIELD agents too. Next would be Bruce, Hill would let him bounce ideas off of her even though she didn't know what he was talking about anymore than the rest of them did, except for Tony. Tony was another matter, they got along ok most of the time but when he would start to pester her she would give as good as she got, which meant they would get into loud arguments. Steve thought she had the most patients with Thor and him self, always stopping to help them understand the world around them and Steve was very thankful for that.
Maybe that was why he had begun to notice her more, as a woman and not an agent. When ever she would lean into him to show him how to work his latest cell phone, courtesy of Tony, he was very aware of every soft curve pressing against him. This led to some interesting dreams and a cold shower in the morning. Once he had seen her smile and heard her laugh he was a goner.
Steve had talked to the others about what he was feeling and most of them had been supportive. Tony was confused as to why he would like Maria, since she could be a little cold when she was working and had tried to convince him to go after someone else but Steve couldn't get his head and his heart to let go of the idea of being with Maria.
Phil was the most supportive of him being with Maria. Since they had worked together for a while, Phil and Maria were good friends, so to have Phil's blessing was a great confidence booster for him and gave him the courage to finale ask her out.

Steve awkwardly stood near Maria's desk not knowing what to say or how to say it; he had never been all that good with women in the past and becoming Captain America hadn't changed that.
Without looking up Maria addressed him. "Is there something I can help you with Captain?"
"Please call me Steve."
"Alright, what's up Steve?"
"Maria, I like you and I was wondering if you would do me the honor of going out to dinner with me?"
Maria was stopped writing and looked up at him, seeing all the nervousness and honesty in eyes. "You want to go out with me?"
Steve, not trusting his voice, nodded his head.
"Why me? You're a good guy Steve, a great man; you could do so much better than me."
Steve shook his head negatively. "I don't think I could do better than you. You're strong, beautiful, smart, honest, and kind and I could think of so much more. Please give me chance, give us a chance. If you don't feel anything for me that's fine, all you have to do is let me know. I'll be happy just to be apart of your life."
Maria bit her lip; he was too good for her. "Ok. It couldn't hurt to try right?" The look of complete joy on his face chased away any concern she had of starting something with him and brought a smile to her own face.
"Right, I'll pick you up tomorrow at seven for our dinner. Is that good for you?"
"I look forward to it."
Steve's smile couldn't have gotten bigger but Maria swears it did.

Just a nice short story to make me feel better, since I have joined the Navy and will not be able to make a full story out of this any time soon. But hopefully sometime in the future I will continue with it.
