Le Disclaimer: I don't own Peter Pan. Also, this is based on the Disney version of Peter Pan.

Wendy sat in front of the vanity in the room she had refused to move in to a few years earlier. That was back when she was about twelve. She was now a young elegant lady of about sixteen. She was brushing her hair and humming an old tune when she heard a loud crash next door.

"Back, you scoundrel!" she heard her little brother John cry. This was accompanied by the sound of several "thumps", which she assumed to be the sound of wooden swords hitting against each other. Sighing, she got up and poked her head through the nursery door.

"John, Michael, do be quiet, please. I'm trying to get ready for my-"

She was interrupted by her brothers. "Date! Date! Wendy's got a date!" Together they danced around her, chanting "Date! Date! Wendy's got a date!" over and over again.

"Oh, you two! When will you grow up?"

The two boys stopped suddenly and glared at her. John crossed his arms and Michael stuck his tongue out at her indignantly. "Grow up?" John said. "Never ever ever ever!"

The girl sighed and ushered the two boys to bed. "Come now, it's getting late. You have to sleep early today, you know. You two have a lot to do tomorrow." As she tucked them in and kissed them goodnight, Michael began to suck his thumb (it was a little habit that was hard for him to give up, even though now he was about eight). He looked at his older sister and whispered, half-asleep, "Peter never grew up." Here he yawned. "Why should we?" He stretched one last time and fell into a deep sleep.

Wendy's eyebrows creased when she heard Peter's name. Something inside her stirred and she instinctively looked at the window behind her. The sky was dark, as the sun had set a few hours earlier. The window was slightly ajar. She assumed that her brothers must have opened it during their playtime. Slowly, she got up and walked towards it, tentatively placing a hand on the handle. She wondered if she should open it or not, but when she saw how breathtakingly bright the stars where, she twisted the handle and leaned out of the house, inhaling the scent of the cool night air.

Yes, all the stars where bright on that night. But only one really stood out to Wendy. She frowned deeply and quickly closed the window. Before she walked out of the room she turned towards the window once more, half expecting to see a shadow of a boy turn up. But there was no shadow. There was no tiny, tinkling little fairy. There were no flying pirate ships. She sighed and stepped out of the nursery and into her room, which, now that she thought about it, was much smaller than the other room. It made her feel slightly trapped.

Sorry if it's kind of short . Anyway, I'd really appreciate it if you'd review it! ^_^
