Opened Destiny

This fanfiction is based off Marinette receiving the Black Cat Miraculous and Adrien receiving the Ladybug Miraculous instead. I will be beginning with Season 1, working my way onwards however it won't be following the plot of the actual T.V show as I'm doing my own take on this :P

Before we get into the fic, I do want to say that I have added in my own OC Kwamii and OC Miraculous Holder. These two are old characters of mine that I have adapted for this very fanfiction, if you do not like them, do NOT read and bash these OCs.

I hope you enjoy though, Ladies and Gentlemen.

What's Meant To Be | Prologue

Somewhere in Paris, somewhere in an old Chinese tea shop, stirred an old turtle and his pet. Negative energy spreading through the two. The man snapped awake, his eyes wide and he stared ahead blankly.

He was awake.

In another part of Paris, three children woke with a familiar that something was going to change, something wonderful even.

However, as the three got ready for the day, one looked into a mirror and frowned.

Marinette was staring at herself in the mirror, she didn't know why and her thoughts were all over the place. She bit her lip, her arms wrapping around her waist as she stared at the blue eyes that stared back.

Guarded…Lonely.

"Marinette! We're going to be late for school!"

The blue-haired girl snapped out of her thoughts and her head twisted to the voice. It was her "twin" brother. Her best friend. Her shield.

He looked nothing like Marinette, but their eyes were so strikingly similar that they were mistaken as twins, though they had no idea as to why. She was used to it, so was he. They would just agree and go on about their day like nothing had happened.

Alex stared back at his younger sister, frowning. He hated how she drowned in her thoughts, dark thoughts, he could always tell. He had sworn when he met her, he would protect her. No matter the cost, even if that cost was his life.

He felt a tap on his chest, his eyes lowed slightly to see Marinette holding his bag out for him. He breathed in and winked, taking it and whispering, "This year is gonna be a good one, Kitty. I can feel it in my very bones." He gripped his forearms and shook them slightly to make sure she got the point.

Alex loved seeing the smile and laugh that escaped his sister. Especially when she nodded her head and agreed. It made him feel warm inside, a wide grin appearing on his lips as well

The two siblings quickly said goodbye to their parents before walking outside of their home and out into the cold that was Paris' wind. Marinette shivered and pushed into her brother's side, he was always so warm.

Alex chuckled and wrapped his arm around the girl, beginning to lead her to school. However, his ears twitched as he heard a soft groan of pain, he twisted his head to see on old man with a cane shrugging to cross the road and his eyes zeroed on a truck that was seemingly going faster.

Thinking fast, he squeezed Marinette before letting go and shooting off towards the old man. His hands gripped the man and moved him to the path, just as the truck drove past.

"Watch how you're driving, you shmuck!" Alex growled, it sounded very inhuman-like and it shocked him but didn't think much of it at the moment, he'll think about it later, as he turned to the old man.

Marinette was looking at the cane-wielding man, making sure he was fine before motioning towards their bakery. She looked extremely worried, but curious just like a kitten.

"Our parents own the bakery, one of the best in Paris! The food is really good, sir!"

Polite as always, but he knew his sister. She was sneaky, mischievous and had the worst bad luck in the world. She was a fighter. He chuckled,

"Wish we could stay, but we running late for school. Please be careful while crossing roads, sir. Stay safe."

Alex grabbed Marinette, bowed and tugged his sister in the direction of the hell they will be enduring for another year. He may believe this year was going to be different, but Collège Françoise Dupont was a hellhole for him and he knows he made it difficult for Marinette to make friends.

The man stared after the two, considering them. He could tell the brown-haired boy was the leader of the two, he could the sense the protectiveness he had for the girl, he acted much like a wolf. The girl had protentional as well, a mischief he only ever felt in a few.

A smile grew on his lips.

"Master?"

A green turtle was looking up at his Master curiously before his eyes followed back towards the siblings before they disappeared from view.

The siblings had just entered the classroom, only to see Chloe and Sabrina in their seat. Alex's dementor immediately changed from a sweet and loving brother that few could claim they knew, to the angry and over-protecting boy they knew from the years of being classmates.

"Get out of our seat, she-devil and slave."

His voice sounded deeper, his chest rumbling with anger when Chloe glanced at him before she smirked.

She. Fucking. Smirked.

Alex would have lunged at her if it wasn't for Marinette gripping his shirt, keeping him at bay for the moment.

Marinette shifted uncomfortable beside her brother, she hated when her brother fought with Chloe but Alex hated the girl more than she did, than anyone really. She understood the reasons as to why, only keeping Alex at bay from ripping into the spoiled girl.

"Oh, mutt, I'm sitting here from now on because Adrien Agreste will be sitting in front of me, right there." She pointed to the desk in front of her, a smug look in her eyes.

The boy blinked, "Adrien Agreste?" His head tilted to the side, his hair slightly shifting to go with the new angle.

Chloe laughed, "Do you hear him, Sabrina? He doesn't know who Adrien Agreste is! He really is a mutt, dumb as they come really."

Alex glared and would have snapped but was beat by…someone he's never seen before.

"Don't call him a mutt!"

The girl was sitting where Chloe and her slave sat, Alex blinked and stared at the girl curiously. The first thing he noticed was the glasses framing the hazel eyes.

Marinette looked at the girl in surprise, no one stood up for the siblings. Their classmates feeling intimidated by the eldest of the two and never knowing how to approach Marinette in worry of setting off Alex. Plus, she seemed shy and never left Alex's side at school.

The home teacher, Miss Bustier, walked in and frowned when she saw what was happening in her classroom. Sighing, she slapped her folders onto her desk and looked at her students.

"Miss. Dupain-Cheng, sit next to Miss. Césaire please. Mr. B-"

Miss Bustier cut her sentence off when she felt something cold staring at her and she moved her eyes to Alex, who was staring at her with a blank look but it was…cold and it sent a terrifying shiver down her spine.

"M-Mr Black, sit i-in t-t-the back please," She let out a relived breath when Alex turned his gaze away from her, "Mr. Lahiffe, you will be sitting in the front."

Alex led Marinette to the new girl, he darkly muttered to the hazel eyes staring at the girl he was giving away…forcefully, "Look after my Kitten. She tends to cause trouble when I'm not around." The hazel eyes widened and he lightly kissed Marinette's forehead, the girl was pouting at her older brother, before making his way to Nino's old seat.

He was not a happy human, the blank stare that was directed towards Miss Bustier wasn't just cold, it was soulless.

A certain golden-haired child was running up the stairs into the school just as he heard,

"Adrien!"

He turned his head, to see Gorilla and Nathalie staring up at him in horror. It made him guilty but he had to do this, he promised Chloe! He wanted to go school.

"No! I-I don't want to home-schooled anymore, Nathalie! I want to go to school, meet people my age, I want…" He didn't know what to say, what did he want? Freedom? A chance of normality? Adrien didn't know but he knew that school would get him away from that house!

Just as Nathalie was about to respond to her young ward, all three heads snapped to an old man who was groaning and trying to get back onto his feet using his cane. How had he gotten there?

Only Adrien reacted to the sight in front of them, rushing over to the man and helping him up. He smiled sadly at the man, who gave him a large grin before Adrien turned with his head hung and let Gorilla lead him back home. If it could even feel like that.

A few moments passed as the old man watched the three disappear into the limo before the green turtle whizzed over next to his Master's head, "Do you think it's wise, Master?"

The Master could only grin, stroking his beard in consideration.

"Wayzz, if He is awake then we must act. These children are our best bet, the blond and the bluenette as the balance with the brunette as their silent protector."

The small turtle looked to his Master with worry but didn't say anything, only whizzing back into the old man's pocket as he walked away from the school, humming to himself.

Alex slammed the trap door that led into Marinette's room shut when he entered. His sister was talking about how cool and confident that the new girl, Alya he learnt, was. School was uneventful and Marinette sat with the new girl, even inviting her to their table! It was awkward but...the girl was letting Marinette show her real self, and he guessed having a girlfriend would help with Marinette when she was dealing with, he shivered at the disgusting thought, girl stuff.

He sighed, sitting in front of the little coffee table. Rubbing his face, Alex turned the T.V on and the news immediately popped on. He sat up straight, staring at the television in shock.

"A large stone-like creature is wreaking havoc in downtown Paris; the Police are trying their best to bring the beast down but their efforts seem to be fails."

Adrien blinked, staring at his large screen as a large stone man appeared in the screen.

Alex gaped, not believing what his eyes were seeing.

Marinette's eyes moved from the T.V to the coffee table, seeing two small black boxes with her name and her brother's name on each.

"What is this?"

Adrien peered at the box in front of him, tilting his head before he opened it.

"Hey there!"

Two screams echoed one another, while the other just stared at the floating creature with wonder.
