Spoilers: Post-Hells Bells. Not directly, but a reference to it.
Summary: She suffers every night.
A/N:
1) I wrote this while in class this afternoon (English to be exact) and I just thought of it and had to write it down. I don't know where the idea came from!
2) Please go visit my website http://members.fortunecity.com/hollus1 - it's a wallpaper site and there is lots there! Also comment on the site (please?). I'm working on a new layout as we speak.
3) Yes, I am still working on my other fic 'Discoveries'. I need some inspiration (and Wrecked last night just didn't cut it) so if anyone wants to lend me some I'd be very grateful. If you haven't read it, please go R&R: http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=604893
And now for something completely different…
*Nightmares*
She woke, sweaty, frightened and panting. She touched her face with her hand and realised she had scratched herself during her nightmare. She looked at the clock on her bedside table. 3.23 am.
She had been having nightmares for the last three weeks again. Ever since she'd broken up with him she'd had nightmares, each one more vivid and terrifying than the last. They always started with her clawing her way out of her coffin.
She shuddered, remembering her post-resurrection nightmares. Until she'd spent the night in the house with him she'd had one ever night.
But none of them could compare with this.
She slipped a pair of black sweatpants and a blue tank top on. She laced her trainers and tied them. Opening her door she checked the rooms. Neither Dawn nor Willow was awake. She crept back into her room and climbed out her window, sticking a stake in her back pocket as she left.
She headed for the familiar crypt in the cemetery not too far away from her house. As she approached the door she hesitated, wondering whether to go inside or not.
She knocked lightly on the door twice. There was no answer. She pushed the door open only to find an empty room. She heard the faint sound of a television downstairs.
As she descended the ladder she saw the back of his head resting on the top of his couch. The television emitted a soft glow. She hadn't been here since the night she broke up with him. She'd only seen him once since then. She remembered how jealous she was at the wedding when she found out he'd brought a date. She had realised he only did it to get her jealous.
She walked in front of the couch and stared at him. He was asleep, with his mouth half open and a small smile on his lips. His arm was draped on the back of the couch and his head was lolled back, slightly resting on his arm. She touched his cheek with her hand. He stirred but did not wake.
She sat next to him and cuddled into him. She draped his arm around her as she rested her head on his shoulder.
She closed her eyes. She realised being here with him was the only place she felt safe and loved. The only place where she could rest and be herself. She soon drifted off to sleep.
She had no more nightmares that night.
