Chapter 1

Going back to Colby felt good, Colby was home compared to moms place, where she now moped around after being dumped by the glasses, nerd guy. I don't think she'd ever been dumped before; she usually was the one who moved on. Eli and I made sure we saw each other at least twice during this year of college, but it was hard staying on top of a distant relationship, we talked on the phone usually every Monday and Thursday (The times where our classes didn't clash) his voice reminded me of the first summer I'd ever had in Colby, I was intrigued. I make the effort to go out and try new things with some of my college friends but most of them just lock themselves away and study.

I packed up the last of my clothes and scanned the room for anything that I might of missed. I was thankful to Heidi for getting me the two bright pink suitcases on wheels when I started on the daunting flight of stairs, I took them one at a time being careful not to trip. By the time I'd reached the bottom everyone was gathered round the bus time tables in the main lobby working out which route would be best for them, I already knew and had planned the night ahead, I'd catch the 180 to Hind marsh then Eli had said he'd come pick me up in his car and drive me back to Colby, I must say I was quiet looking forward to two hours with just Eli and Me to catch up. I found my way down the path and to where the busses were waiting and left my cases with the other one eighty's to climb on the bus. I looked down the aisle of the bus and spied a spare seat next to Cindy, A girl I sometimes talked to in the library studying. I sat down next to her and placed my bag by my feet.

"So where are you off to, back to see family?"I asked.

"No actally, I'm taking an advanced course up in Carlton"

"Ok, how long does that go for?"

"Half the summer"

"Wow that's long" I could stand a one and a half month course, in the summer this girl was obviously very driven…

"What about you, any plans?" she asked kindly re adjusting her glasses.

"I'm going back to Colby for the summer, catching up with friends and family" I smiled at the thought, picturing the summer ahead.

"That's nice, I really wish I had more time to catch up with my family" Cindy murmured as the bus roared to life and started towards highway 23.

"They'll understand" I murmured and bent down digging through my bag finding g my iPod which I quickly shoved in to drown out the noise of the loud bus engine. I watched the scenery pass by and eas startled when my phone vibrated signaling a message. It was Eli.

Am I picking you up at 1.30?

Yeah, can't wait to see you xx I replied

See you soon

Ok xx

As soon as I see Eli I know summer would've begun….
