Feliks felt sick.
Not 'my head hurts a little, I need to lie down sick', more like 'oh my God, I'm going to vomit blood all over that rug sick'. Good riddance, too. Floral and burgundy? Ich!
Lights blared around him, interns carried lattes to their supervisors, makeup crews were bustling here an there with different products to dust on his face, and the entire area was making a great deal of noise.
All the blonde really wanted was to curl up into a ball, and hide his face from the world.
But he couldn't.
He had to be on live television in less then 5 minutes now, and it was NOT the time to be having a mental breakdown! This was his, like, dream! If he couldn't overcome his stage fright now, his piece would be tossed over to some other wannabe newsperson-in-training, and he'd go back to delivering lattes like poor Eduard. The nerdy looking teen didn't seem to mind it very much, to Feliks' amazement. Tch! Who'd want to do that job? Coffee stains are totally difficult to get of shirts, he knew from experience.
Feliks whipped out his smart phone. 3 minutes until showtime. Heart pounding, Feliks went over his piece once more.
2 minutes until air.
Glossy pink nails tapped his arm, counting down the moments to go.
1 minute until air.
Not willing to back down now, Feliks cautiously approached the area he needed to stand in. The other 4 people of the 'Celebrity Gossip & News' (Geez, couldn't the writers come up with a more creative name?) panel were sitting comfortably in their chairs, laughing amiably at whatever Ms. Mei Wang had said. He lowered himself onto the comfortable cushions of the black leather couch and waited.
"Five!" The stage director shouted, voice calm and assured.
"Four!"
"Three!"
"Two"
"One, and we're on, folks!"
Feliks' heart nearly stopped. He was on television. Popular television. It was a wonder he hadn't fainted right there.
A young woman with tan skin, and cinnamon colored hair grinned, and began the first topic. Strangely enough... He was beginning to feel comfortable. After a few moments, he'd even gotten into a debate about the fashion choices of popular singer, Arthur Kirkland. The segment went on for an hour, but to Feliks it felt like mere minutes.
Maybe he could do this everyday! It was only when the lights faded and the crew congratulated him that he realized something important.
This made him happy.
He was totally psyched for tomorrow!
