Grandma's Secret Recipe
"We are doing this my way, okay?" Jacob asked Queenie in the kitchen. It was often a struggle with both loving baking as much as they did, their kitchen was large with yellow cupboards and lots of counter space.
She nodded, even though she knew Grandma's secret recipe, already picked from Jacob's mind. He had the table covered under ingredients, like peanut butter, baking soda, brown sugar, and Ferrero Rocher chocolates. As well as equipment like a mixing bowl and measuring cups.
"No-Majs bake like this?" Queenie asked, suspiciously eyeing the already messy counter-top. Queenie waited for Jacob's directions before moving to preheat the oven to 375℉.
She watched him measure out the ingredients carefully and with a trace of mischief she hovered a chocolate over to her and popped it into her mouth flirtingly, drawing his attention.
Silly woman. Jacob thought, making her raise her eyebrows at him before he moved to pull her towards him, kissing her. But I love her.
"I love you too, honey," Queenie said. When the first batch was done baking, she couldn't help but sneak a taste, they were delicious, chocolate peanut-buttery goodness.
The two love birds baked in happy companionship until she went up to Jacob, and popped his finger into her mouth, licking the batter off and letting out a groan of delight. The noise and accompanying thoughts made Jacob blush.
"Oh honey," she responded, giggling when she heard his thoughts. "We can't leave the cookies unattended, they'll burn. We'll have time for other things later." She winked.
Jacob nodded, trying to be serious. He set a timer on the last batch of cookies. He was so excited to be sharing this with the woman he loved, she always loved his baking, albeit with the methods unconventional for a witch.
They would be perfect, just like Grandma used to make.
