So for some unknown reason, there's not many Scrubs stories out there at all. Which makes me somewhat depressed. Especially because I really like Cole and Lucy. All the stories are written by one person. I honestly thank them for making stories for this pairing. But because of the lack of interest, I decided to start writing some too =)

I don't own Scrubs!

She didn't know what happened. All she knew was she had snapped. Seeing her boyfriend lying on the hospital bed made her emotions haywire. She knew that the mole was cancerous and they had caught it early, it still didn't give her the sense of relief she thought it would.

Maybe it was the way he was acting as though nothing happened. Or because he was being his arrogant jerk self. Whatever it was, she couldn't handle it.

She was sitting beside him. He had just got out of surgery. Dr. Turk had told her that everything went fine and there were no signs of the cancer in his lymph nodes. While she was relieved that there were no more signs of cancer, she still couldn't help herself.

She cried.

It could've been because she was emotionally stressed from all the work they had been doing. It could've been the lack of sleep she'd gotten the past few nights worrying about Cole. But at that point, she didn't care what the reason was.

She just wept.

Her head rested on her arms as she laid partially on the bed. Cole had not woken up from the surgery and it was killing her. She just wanted to see him. Hear his voice. Feel him. She hadn't realized how important he had become to her until now.

And it only made her sadder.

JD and the others tried cheering her up. They had missed seeing her laughing and stammering. Hell, even Dr. Cox tried making her happy. But they knew the truth.

She was in love with Cole.

Lucy tried containing her sobs. She hadn't cried like this in a long time. Luckily, there wasn't many people around. Everyone else was in their dorm studying, relaxing, or sleeping. Even if Lucy wanted to, she wouldn't be able to sleep.

She was so lost in her emotions that she hadn't noticed Cole's hand move slightly.

"Luce?"

She gasped. Lifting her head, she looked up and saw Cole open his eyes slightly. She could tell he was groggy. After all, he'd been asleep for the past couple days.

"Cole?"

He smiled. "Why you cryin'?"

She couldn't help herself. Seeing him awake had made her so happy, she threw herself onto him in a big hug. Lucy tried to control the tears but they wouldn't stop. She felt his arms wrap around her, although they were lighter. She could feel his smile on her shoulder.

"I'm fine Luce." He pulled her face so he could see her eyes. "You see? Babe, I'm fine. No cancer is going to get me. It can't get a piece of Big King Cole!" He smiled when he heard her laugh. He pulled her into a gentle kiss.

"I missed you." She mumbled against his lips. "I honestly thought you weren't going to wake up. I stayed here the whole time, worrying about you."

He looked at her. She smiled. "I kept my promise. I was the first person you got to see when you woke up."

His heart swelled with love. He didn't know when he had fallen for Lucy, but he was glad that he wasn't the same man he used to be. Because of her, he had changed.

"I missed you too babe."
