My Jacob, What's Imprinting?

---------

Jacob's POV.

Ever since Nessie came into my life things have been on the up. I was her protector. Shared all secrets with her, and her's with me. Today was the day though, I wish I didn't have to share secrets with her.

About three in the afternoon I showed up after my shift, walking into the Cullen household, my Nessie runs up into my arms.

"Jacob! Oh my Jacob! Come look what I did for you!" She was so excited, we went into the kitchen were tons of papers and markers were everywhere. "Look, I drew a bunch of pictures while you were away." Holding them up, I smiled with lots of love. Drawings of us playing by the lake, also of us hunting, of course she would draw that she got a bigger catch than me. I laughed.

"Nessie, these are wonderful! Thank you. I love them." Giving her a hug, we walked back to the front room to watch some tv. Half way through some movie, honestly I wasn't paying attention. I was pretty tired, I kept nodding off. Nessie reached her hand to my face. It was a memory. There was me, Nessie right after birth and Bella. Screaming at me for imprinting on her daughter. I shuddered. Why was she showing me this?

"My Jacob, whats imprinting?" Nessie looking right into my eyes. What should I say? Edward! I could use some help here! I mentally shouted. She's still a baby in a sense. I couldn't tell her yet. "Umm. When you are older." Nessie huffed. I knew she wouldn't let this go.

A few hours later, I wake up to Nessie jumping up and down on me. "Nessie! Ugh. You woke me up." She looks sad. I became suddenly worried. "What's wrong? Are you ok? Have you been hurt?" My mind started to race into a million ways of why she was not happy, then of course she giggles.

"No silly Jacob. I have good news." She smile brightens up her face. "Whats that." Sitting my self up, these leaches really need some more comfortable couches, its killing my back. I thought silently.

"Grandfather said I grew another inch, and he thinks I'm eight and a half now!" She clapped her hands. "Thats great! Pretty soon you will be able to play those games that are for nine and up." I laughed light heartly. "Thats not what is great, silly. I'm older now. So tell me. Whats imprinting?" I knew it. She wasn't going to give up.

"Oh Nessie, when you get alot older I can tell you. Its complicated actually, even hard for me to understand." I gave her my puppy dog eyes, hoping she would drop the subject. Instead she touched her hand to my face.

The memory was of me, trying poorly to set up the new play station system Emmett bought for me. I was cursing, and very confused on how it all when together. Nessie comes up behind me, only about four, tells me to get back and within the matter of seconds had it hooked up properly.

"Haha, funny." She smiled. Thinking she was smarter because she had out done me. "Its alot more complicated than a game system. Its so complex, even your daddy doesn't really understand it." Now that got her. Edward knew pretty much everything there was to know, and that was about ninety-nine percent true too.

That stopped her for the night. I slept on her floor in wolf form, while she slept peacfully in her bed. I hoped we wouldn't have to go through this again tomorrow.
